Been trying to figure out what the problem is since the launch at midnight. I was able to grab the Sig. Ed. PC version. Everything went fine, it loads the launcher and upon hitting 'Play' a little black box appears for a second and then Nothing. Nothing loads, no Error messages, apsolutly nothing happens. If I hit 'Play' anymore it will repeat, the black box will appear for a second and thats it.

Anyone else know whats going on or had this problem?

There are a number of people posting in other threads with this same problem. I've tried every fix for everything that i've seen on here, and it does nothing for the "hit play.... and absolutely nothing happens" problem. You're not alone though.

Got my game working. Had to do a clean boot. Something in my start up was blocking DA2.

After looking at some other posts on the forums, I was able to get DA2 to play.

I had AVG and it was thinking the activation was a Virus, even after I made an exception for it the game still wouldn't run. Under 'C:Users/Username/AppData/Local/Temp/mtka_tmp ' there is the Dragon Age 2 activation, and as a vista user all I had to do was 'Run as Administrator' on the activation to allow it to finish the last step to log into DA2

Interesting that I cannot find the activation file on my machine. Because it is a Steam DL, I wonder? Regardless, no amount of granting Admin privileges or removing AV and firewall worked for me. I am noticing many more people posting about this issue as well...

I have done everything said on the site to make the game play... but nothing has helped. I even shut my computer completely off and then back on... if that is what you call a "clean boot."

Game does not even start for me

On a whim, I disabled UAC and the game launched immediately. So, for me, some combination of giving admin privileges to the executables and disabling the UAC worked.

I should say that I am running Windows XP

I still can't run it.. added exception to AVG, ran the launcher (nothing happened really) and still nothing happens when i hit play.. Does anyone have a clear guide on how to overcome this?

Grrrr - same issue for me... Play button does nothing. Please help..
