I purchased the signature edition (hard copy) from Gamestop.

*Dragon Age Origins Still connects to the host servers no problem

*The demo of Dragon Age 2 had the same connection issue, I figured it would be cleared up with the final release but I guess not.

Specs
Intel i7
64bit Win 7
ATI HD5870 IGB onboard VR
8 GB RAM

I am using Win7 64-bit with SP1, and I'm unable to even log in just to activate the game. I can still log in using the same account info through DA:Origins, and ME2.

Thanks everyone. I've added the Windows 7, 64-bit info to the bug. I'm packing it in for the night but there'll be people looking at this in about 8 hours or so.

I have Windows Vista 32-bit and the issue so I don't believe that is the common thread.

Vista 64 digital download from Amazon. On a side note, I was able to log in withthe demo without any difficulties.

This is obviously a pretty far reaching issue. Any update?

Typically these types of problems are due to your connection being blocked client side or somewhere en-route and not reaching us at all.

For those experiencing the issue, please attempt to telnet directly to the following IP/ports:

Redirector: 159.153.235.22 port 42124

DA2 PC slaves:
74.205.9.215 port: 15013
74.205.9.216 port: 15101
74.205.9.222 port: 15201
74.205.9.223 port: 15301
74.205.9.224 port: 15401
74.205.9.225 port: 15501

If you encounter problems pinging any of above, could you then perform a traceroute (from Windows, the command would be: tracert i.e. “tracert 159.153.235.22”) and post the results to this thread.

That should help us identify where the problem is. Thanks!

Thanks for the list.

I was able to track the problem down to EA servers being blacklisted either by the Spyware list or the Adware list in PeerBlock 1.1.

Manually whitelisting the EA IP's I was able to login just fine.

Could you please explain in detail how we could do that? Unfortunatelly I have no idea what a PeerBlock is or how to manualy whitelist anything but if it made it work for you I sure wanna learn how to.

Apologies for the confusion.

PeerBlock is a third party program that basically acts as a firewall using blacklists to allow for blocking Adware an Spyware sites amongst other things. Somehow EA's DA2 servers are included in one of the blacklists PeerBlock uses. If you do not have PeerBlock installed, you don't need to do anything. It was merely a heads up as others might have forgotten about it as well as it often is left running in the background.

Other programs however can also act in similar manners as PeerBlock. Many anti malware tools like SpyBot Search and Destroy install a blacklist on your computer's host file, however it is unlikely that EA's servers would end up in SpyBot's list.

If you have any type of antispyware/malware tools, or any internet security suites that protect you from something, it would be a good idea to disable them temporarily to see if they might be interfering with your traffic to EA's DA2 servers.

I expect BioWare staff will figure this out though if there is something on their end.

For the record, running on Windows 7 64bit, retail signature edition DA2.
