It's a very old thing now, the fact that the BSN is now our home instead the old BioBoards. But you know... building a roof on top of a building that is about to collapse... will make the roof go down too, it's not like it can float, unless sorcery most foul is used. But that's NOT the point!
Point is, we got the BSN, with many new shiny features - Groups, projects, friends, polls and whatnot. Sure, it's a very practical way of keeping in touch with people, over the old "buddy" system we had on the BioBoards. But we got the BSN because basically the old crib was becoming a bit "unstable". Or so the staff said. I joined the BioBoards in 2007, when it hit the 4 million members. The BSN has what, 2? 3 million maybe? Well, it's working pretty much WORSE than the old forums.
I could name all the bugs it has, the BSN officially works "better" on one out of 5 different web browsers. IE? Firefox? Chrome? Opera? Nope! Safari! The only web browser where the "expanded comments" on Statuses is user friendly. Why can't they all work? You know, people have preferences. And of the five mentioned, Safari for me comes as LAST.
Then, this horrendous log-out bug that came in our lives now. Or the extremely low speed. Or the not existent updates. Or the invisible screenshots. The bug list is really long, I won't describe all problems one and the other. There are PLENTY of threads for that.
So... why am I ranting? I am not arguing your job is easy. FAR from it. I had computer programming in my first uni grade. I know it's hard, I understand this. But it's not that difficult to post a message on EVERY forum and subforum of the BSN saying you will lock access to it for a few weeks to make it clean, shiny and WORKING.
I am a BSN addict.... but at least, make it worth it.

As for magic, well that's not my forte.
