I dunno if this is a bug or just me but everytime I start the game and I get to the screen where I can edit Hawke I have to wait for 4 to 5 mins waiting for the screen to light up and allow me to edit... I would understand the wait time for location in the game but to edit hawke theres nothing big.. still it makes me feel like my PS3 froze but with music running:pinched:

I just got past the Gender/class selection screen, and it's been about 5 - 10 minutes on some loading screen. This seems a bit...crazy, considering it isn't even at the Editing Screen.

Do either of you have a lot of DAO saves on the system?

I go to start game and it takes forever to load. I waited for more than 10 mins and nothing happened. I dont have any DOA data or saves on my system. I have mass effect 2 but im going to try to delete that and see what happens. Why do all of your games not work from the start?

I had the same issue they're reporting (7 minutes for the Customization section to load), and yes, I have a lot of DAO saves.

I deleted everything to do with Mass Effect 2, so far so good.

Nope, I had DAO on the 360. Recently switched over to PS3. But, I deleted the installed HDD data, and reinstalled it. It hardly had to load the next time I tried.
Of course, now it's freezing during battles, so that's not good.

Had the same problem where i would go to start a new game and it stays on a loading screen forever. I tried deleting DAO stuff and reloading all DA2 files and it works

uhh ya so the reason it loads like it does is from all the saves I have for DA:O for the importing? WoW looks like I need to do a bit of spring cleaning to rid the not needed saves!

It takes me ~9 minutes on average to get through to the customization screen. I have to admit that I fiddle with my character's look until I have it perfect, this includes making tweaks, starting the game, deciding I don't like the look of his beard or that I want her to have longer hair, scrapping the character and restarting until I land on something I am happy with during gameplay (which can't be tested until I start the game). Having this loop include a 9 minute penalty every time I change my mind is maddening.
For the record, I have several hundred DA:O saves over around a dozen characters, I save all the time in case I want to go back and do things differently so I don't intend to clean them up, ever.

It took me about 3-5 minutes to load the character creation screen during the first part of the game. I believe I've about maxed the amount of save files you can have in Origins, so I can only assume that the delay is because it's picking through all those save files...?
I'm only about 1 hour in though, but that's the only thing I've noticed off in regards to loading times. It's not that bad, just a little scary the first time it happened.

The more DAO saves that you have on your system, the longer the loads will take during character generation unfortunately. The system has to read through and analyze the saves for the appropriate data, which takes some time. The time will increase along with the total number of saves. We aware of this and are looking into it.
