 I preordered DA2 shortly before it was released last night, preloaded it and started playing today.  The game runs beautifully with the exception of having no voices during cutscenes.  The minor dialogue that plays as you free roam has voice, I have voice in combat, but nothing in cutscenes.  I've reinstalled the game once already and have had no luck.

I'm being forced to play the game and read the subtitles, it's a huge bummer.  Anyone else with this problem?  I did a quick search of the forums and haven't seen anything similar.

Any help would be appreciated.

one thing i found in another thread that seemed to have worked is to select the forced stereo option in the audio menu

I'll try that. It's a shame though, I've got a nice 5.1 system that I'd like to use. I shouldn't have to limit myself by forcing stereo audio.

I have the same problem - no sound during the cutscenes or when I free roam. Whats weird - during a combat scene the voice is no problem. This is really annoying

If using "force stereo" works, you can check a couple things:
--Check your speaker settings in the control panel (make sure it matches your speakers). We use your windows settings, and if windows is set to a stereo configuration, the game will think that shiny 5.1 system is a pair of desktop speakers.
--Ensure your speakers are set to the correct channels ie - your front left is actually the front left, etc.

same exact problem altho i have noticed some ghostly voices saying what the character is saying

I have the same problem. I use headphones but I'm not sure what my audio settings are on... I'll check and see if changing them helps.

Edit: Just checked and enabled the Force Stereo option and that worked for me. But, again, I use headphones to begin with so that's the ideal setting for headphones...

So, I just started having this problem. I was in the middle of playing when it happened. The first few cut-scenes worked fine, just like every other time I played, and then bam no voices during cut-scenes. All other ambient sounds and conversations outside of the cut-scenes work. Just nothing during cut-scenes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing. My audio settings have not changed since I first started playing and this happened in the middle of a game play. I will try forced audio but something is obviously wrong.
