So I bought the game today at GameStop, got the signature edition, brought it home and installed.
However, after going through the entire installation process and apparently completing, it tells me "installation failed" without giving any reason as to why it failed.
I have a pretty damn good gaming rig so I have no idea why this is happening. First time, in fact.
What could be causing this? I can't even give any error messages because it doesn't display any besides "installation failed"
Installation failed. What the hell?

I have the same problem... As soon as I click "Play", it goes to a EA window saying: "There is a problem with your game's set. Please reinstall your game."
I did reinstall, didn't do anything.

My installation fail message comes when it attempts to unpack the core_audio.rar

My failure message comes up as soon as I agree to the licencing agreement or whatever it is. I have no clue as to why though... I am not amused.

Yay. I am glad I have been looking forward to this game for so long. Wont install as it gets hung up on the core_audio.rar file, wont even copy the folder from the disc to my drive.
Awesome.
Edit: Fails when trying to extract packages\\core\\adio\\sound\\wwisebanks_core.erf
This is what I get for ordering the signature edition, as it seems many posters who have problems have done the same. Good job guys.

Since this thread seems to have more replies I'll post here also,
I'm having the same problem and my disc is not physically damage. It would seem that the the wwisestreams_core.erf file is corrupted. I confirmed this by making an iso of the file and attempting to install it. It fails at 91.8% progress when installing that specific file on both the iso and the physical disk. Also I picked up the game in Ontario, Canada if that helps. It could be that a certain batch of disks have this problem.

Sorry, forgot to add that I bought the pre-release digital download from Amazon for this. I've updated my video drivers, tried the beta video drivers, made sure that everything sound/etc. else works and has its latest drivers too.
No soup.
And the official support link doesn't even have a Dragon Age II section yet.

found a fix for my issue which was that it was failing at unpacking audio.
I extracted the whole disc onto my desktop(a folder) then ran install manually.

Hey all - this was happening with my install as well. Since I bought 2 copies (one for me and one for wifey) I tried her copy (which installed fine on her PC). NO ISSUES!
Not sure if this applies to everyone getting this issue, but it seems to be a problem with the disc itself. Copying to the drive like Ethical did might help, but if all else fails, try to score another copy of the disc to try.

Same problem. This totally blows. Great response time from bioware.

I tried unpacking my disc to desktop (thanks for the idea) unfortunately I get an error saying "Can't read from source file or disc." and it happens at the core_audio again. What the hell am I supposed to do. Wait to go through all the channels to get a new disc? This is bull.

I don't know the install paths to attempt this manually, disk exchange is probably not gonna happen.
I could be six hours into the game if it worked.

Tried out a manual installation; launcher and configure work but awc.dll isn't present for actual game launch. Still not amused at all.

Has a fix been issued for this yet? I'm tired of messing with it. =>.>= I've never been so disapointed about a game failing installation.
