Got a different disc and I still get an Installation Failure message after the license agreement.
This sucks six different ways.
Installation failed. What the hell?

Having the same issues as others, the installation is failing at core_audio.rar. Tried manual install, copying the files, etc. and all had the same issue. Running Windows 7 (64) on this computer; tried installing on a computer running XP and installation still failed at core_audio.rar. I'm pretty much at a loss of what to do since the error seems inherient in the disc. Retailers are going to be thrilled when they get people coming in or calling and demanding replacement discs for faulty merchandise.

I'm going to try to get a replacement disc but knowing how hard it can be to exchange opened pc software I don't have much hope for it. Bioware's silence on this matter is worrisome.

Copying the DVD to my hard drive and running the installation from there solved my problem.

So I've been having problems with it extracting the audio file. Just for the heck of it I tried another disc drive I have installed on my computer. That seemed to fix the problem. I can't really explain why it did. Now I'm hoping I don't run into any other bugs!! Good luck all!

This is totally unacceptable. How can there be no response from bioware?
You realize right that in your case the solution is 150% simpler then people with a physical copy? Just redownload!

I'm having the same issues as everyone else, I ordered the DVD Signature Edition from Amazon as well. I tried copying files to HDD and using another DVD drive and nothing has worked. Very disappointed.

Sort of found a solution for this. lol This morning I tried installing in Safe Mode which didn't work and then copying each individual file from the disc one by one to isolate the problem, I found that it was both core_audio.rar and core_data.rar that would not install or copy to my desktop.
Fed up with that, I called EA at the phone number listed in the back of the manual (16606281001 here in the US) and talked to someone after about 10 mins on hold. After explaining the issue and this thread, I was given a registration code for a digital copy of the game from the EA store. Downloaded it and was concerned it was only showing up as a normal version of the game when I had preordered the signature edition; however, I used the promo code from my box, downloaded/installed the bonuses from the user entitlements page and there you go. The game is working fine as far as the tutorial and first area go.
If your disc or download is crap give them a call, there doesn't seem to be much else you can do at this point.

I am glad I did not call yesterday I would have been a giant ass.
Anyway, I called EA (expect a long wait) and the CS rep was extremely helpful and did for me what the poster above me got, a dlc code.
Thumbs up to EA's CS. I have to say I am really disappointed in Bioware for this one though.

Glad to hear that the CS team was able to help you, IllWillSam, and thanks to all of you for the info posted thus far. In an effort to centralize all of the discussion, however, I'm going to lock this thread down and point you to the Install Issues sticky - http://social.biowar...0/index/6442580
Please continue the discussion there. Thanks!
