(This is for DX10/11 people btw)
Change your desktop theme to windows basic.. I know it sounds silly, but I have noticed many games have issues with the Windows Aero interface, and often running them under windows basic desktop solves the issue. So far I havent had the crashes since doing this, but need other people to try it too.
The annoying side effect being that the game refuses to start in fullscreen mode once you do this.. so each time you run the game you have to go back into options and re-select 'fullscreen' .. but if it gets rid of the crashes, is worth the trouble.
Please post your results if you try this.. the DX10/11 issue is a real pain, but I refuse to run in DX9, and shouldnt have to.
Intel i5 2500
8GB Ram
Asus GTX580
Dragon Age 2 1.02 + GeForce 270.51 (Beta) drivers (which incidentally fixed the framerate issue under very high settings, if you happen to have that problem too)
Hope this helps

Would be curious to see how it is working for someone with a 580...
Well I just bought a new GTX 580 last week and the game crashes like hell. Doesn't matter 270.51 with latest Bioware patch 1.02 it still crashes on DX 11 even if I turn off all other graphics settings and have a low resolution. Still crashes like hell every few minutes. plays beautifully then crash to desktop.
Just unplayable and made a huge dent in Bioware's untarnished reputation. Supposed to work with DX 11 why not? Paid for a new GPU and still have to play in DX 9!! Works perfectly with DX 9 no crashes at all.
Can play Metro 2033 DX 11 all settings maxed so I'm peed off terribly with this and Bioware. Two patches so far haven't helped so I guess I just won't play this anymore because I can't enjoy it knowing I have the hardware to play it maxed out.

I couldnt get mine to run completely stable until I underclocked it to around 756Mhz.. then the crashes went away.. the the crash frequency was pretty much directly proportional to the clock speed... so try underclocking your cards and see if that fixes your problem... you'll only lose 1 or 2 FPS anyway, better than crashing all the time.
Let me know how you get on, I'm interested to know how this works for other people.

Edit: I found that I had not downclocked it properly as I was not familiar with the MSI AfterBurner program. Today I downclocked it properly and so far I've had only 1 crash when a cut scene failed to load but no in game crashes so far touch wood.

Now I have everything maxed in DX11 and framerates hang out around 35-52 outdoors. I find this acceptable, and could always turn down AA from 8x to 4x to get a little boost, since it's visually hard to tell the difference anyway.

I didn't downclock it properly before but today I downclocked it exactly according to the Nvidia standard settings for the card including memory which I failed to do before and so far only a cut scene failed to load but no in game crashes with all settings maxed out DX 11 1920 X 1080

The procedure that I used was the following:
1. Start Windows 7 in safemode
2. then Uninstall all Nvidia drivers using the control panel.
3. Normally this would be enough, however Nvidia drivers leave behind traces even though they
have been uninstalled. I used a program called Drive Sweeper (Just Googled it and was
able to download for free) to clean out any trace of the Nvidia Driver.
4. Once this was done, I restarted my computer.
5. Then I installed Nvidia Driver 270.61 on my computer.
6. Once the Driver was installed, I did a shut down waited 10 seconds and Rebooted (for good
measure) and presto the game so far works without this crash.
I know this might not work for everyone but it worked for me, just thought I would share. If you are wondering where you can get the Nvidia Driver 270.61 you can find it under the Beta and Archived section in Nvidia Driver Download's page. Do Not Use any driver that is 275.XX as they currently are to unstable with Dragon Age II.
For those that are wondering, my system specs are:
Windows 7 64 Bit (All Updates)
Intel Core i7-970
12 Gigs of Ram
Nvidia GTX 590 SLI
OCZ 120 Gig SSD x2
1000 Ultra Power Supply
I hope this helps . . . Good Luck

i can confirm reverting back to nvidia driver 270.61 fixed all game issues.
Priorwith 275.XX drivers i was crashing at almost every cut scene... very very frustrating.
Now, with 270.61 drivers i have not crashed in 5 hours! LUV IT!!!
Playing with DX11, Very High settings, and High Res Texture pack.
I performed a similar removal/install to Mauserna but used Driver Cleaner prior to clean install.
thanks again to all who take the extra time to help on the forums

--In game video options:
DX 11 with 'high' graphics detail and the high resolution texture pack. Very high graphics makes the shadows and lighting look horrible and it freezes . AA and aniso @ 4x. I didn't checkmark any of the 3 boxes below aniso, just the high res textures.
--Launcher config video options:
Play in full screen; vertical sync, disable multiple render targets and disable aspect-ratio correction check marked.
The game looks much better then settling with DX9 and has not froze once for about 12 hours of staggered playing accross 3 days, once for a 5 hour stretch.
My system:
Asus M37N-D AM2+ / Phenom 2 X4 940 BE / 8GB Corsair PC6400 RAM / EVGA GTX 470 1.28GB DDR5 / 800W Corsair PSU / Windows Vista Ultimate 64 on OCZ 128GB SDD / 700GB WD 7200 HDD Storage
Hope this works for you.
