It's not easier it's how they suck you into the cloud linking your primary email, game console, laptop, desktop, internet TV, and your toaster all to the same comercial nexus.
I can't make toast without being logged in to my Steam account these days. The cloud has control!
On a serious note, you must be logged in to your EA Account (which on console means you must be on Xbox Live or PSN, respectively) and it must be the same one you redeemed the codes to. Being logged in at all times greatly helps us track usage and other fun things in order to better serve you, the community, in the future.
That said, I recognize that it's not the most ideal setup for some users but it is currently the only option.

that's kind of a sh!tty f*ck you to the users. why not treat it like paid DLC and unlock for all users on a console? isn't it a violation of the xBox user agreement to not do that?

serious question: if the bonus items are simply a reward for allowing you to gather usage patterns and metrics, both in-game and on various other social media (such as facebook); will you re-lock items if, say, i unsubscribe from the newsletter. or stop following DA on facebook?
i suspect the answer is no. which makes tying the unlock to a single profile on a console all the more galling. particularly the pre-order bonus, since it would seem the only way multiple users on a single console could all get it is for each user to get their own copy of the game. i could be open to an argument on bonuses from invidiual actions being tied only to that profile: completing the demo, liking on facebook, signing up for the newsletter. i'd still argue against, but there is some footing there. tying single use unlock codes to a single profile on a console is a bastard move though.
what bothers me most is that in pretty much every other aspect, bioware is fantastic. you create great games, your sequels do not feel like simple cash-ins and actually improve upon the predecessor, your games don't actively hate the players, etc.. crap like this doesn't fit in.

As myself and my girlfriend play on the same xbox with two xbox live gold accounts We both have the black emporium as that was downloaded via the code in the box on the xbox live market place. (which by the way should only work for one account according to live chat) "Shane: It is mentioned that you can only use the code once with one account and non transferable"
So at the moment im currently waiting for second level support to get back to me but i am going to go on the live chat again today and ask to be put through to them.
This is a total shambles on EA's part, which inadvertently will tarnish Bioware's rep due to the game being developed by them

I am having the same issue ... support on the live chat http://support.ea.co...at/chat_landing have said " the codes are single use only as stated on the website http://www.ea.com/1/product-eulas and also in the game manual" also apparently game.co.uk are not an official retailer for EA (from live chat: Shane: please be informed that game.co.uk is not a official game retailer for EA and this things are mentioned on the game manual)

Perhaps I'm not understanding. Did both YOU and your GIRL buy seperate copies of the signature addition? Furthermore, do both of you have seperate EA accounts tied directly to your seperate gamertags?

No we have one copy of the standard pre-ordered version, as with other games i have pre-ordered any "special content" has been always downloaded via the Xbox live marketplace and as such avaiable to everyone who has a gamertag on that xbox.
we do both have seperate EA accounts (due to playing DA:O and DA2) and those are linked to our seperate gamertags on the Xbox that stays at my house.
Forcing us to have only one account with the "pre-order" bonus's which was never stated on the game.co.uk website when pre-ordering or on any EA site is just wrong.

You were able to both aquire the Black Emporium? Odd.That would be the exception and not the rule as far as LIVE downloads are concerned. Downloaded games, movies, and the sort are tied to one account/gamertag, and can't be shared for obvious reasons.
Is it that you have one Gold Membership and one 'guest' account? Regardless, it isn't EA's fault, more an anti-piracy measure.
