Hi

Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz
CPU speed:
2.21 GHz

2.0 GB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional

GeForce 8600 GTS

When I first played the game it was ok for 3-4 hours than the screen exploded. As time passed it hapened more offten and sometimes the computer even resterted by itself. Than I downloaded the newest driver the 191.07.
It made things better...for a while. Than these things comed again. And now the newest form is this: the screen turns black for 1 second, than it freezes OR explodes. Than a message comes up saying: nvid4_disp disabled. Please restart the computer. (It also says "képernyőillesztő"  before disabled in hungarian but I dont know the english word for it.) Can you help me please?

try cleaning out your case and make sure it's not overheating... then, try the Beta drivers from NVidia's site

This same problem has heppened with me. (And still is!) I have updated everything as mentioned already, yet the game is still going crazy on me. Sometimes a lock-up, other times I get a fatal error,

"Faulting application daorigins.exe, version 1.1.9363.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.5512, fault address 0x00036fa3"

Most of the time the screen will just go linear and un-viewable... To fix this I hit the windows signiture on my keyboard, which brings me back to the desktop, and then re-enter Dragon age. Everything is fine for a while, but the problem will kick in again. I have the same type of Graphics card as Aksi. Could this be the problem?

MSVCRT.DLL has to do with C++. Try the fix below.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do this if the game won't start after updating to 1.01:

The patch was built with an updated version of the MS VC++ 2005 ATL runtime libraries.

http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

scroll down to:
vcredist_x86.exe  --> DOWNLOAD ( regardless of whether you are running 32bit or 64bit you need THAT x86 file )

(To confirm you got the right file, you can check the file size; should be approx. 2.61 MB).
You will want to use the x86 version for ALL OS’s!

try googling your problem PK... Msvcrt.dll (the Microsoft Visual C++ Run-Time) provides basic services, such as string comparison, memory allocation, etc., to programs compiled with Visual C++, versions 4.2 to 6.

In older versions of Windows, programs which linked against Msvcrt.dll were expected to install a copy in the System32 folder, but this contributed to DLL Hell. Newer versions of the operating system include the file to circumvent this problem.

this means you need to update or reinstall Visual C++ runtime...

it's clearly something corrupt with your video drivers...(NVid4_disp is the clue) try downloading the 185.xx drivers and try those (make sure to uninstall the current drivers first)

I downloaded 186.xx cleaned my driver in safemode with driver sweeper...and still the same.

I'm starting to think that it's hardware problame and not software.

Oh a few things I just noticed:
When I install a driver and restart the computer the game says: PhysXloader is missing. Then I install the driver again but not in safe mode and than I can enter...and well it explodes nearly immediately.
And sometimes when the computer restarts it says CPU error Press"F1" to continue. Whey I press F1 it says something about NVIDIA but it vanishes so fast I can't read it.
Does this help?

Did you try and disable PhsyX in the Nvidia properties screen? I'm not sure the 8600GT even supports PhysX, but if it is checked turning it off may help your issue some. Go back to the more recent Drivers and try turning off PhysX.

I hate to the bearer of bad news, but this is very likely a hardware problem. I experienced the exact same thing with my old nvidia, albeit it was on a laptop, which was more catestrophic. Sometimes my system would freeze, sometimes I would get a blue screen and the system will restart. Very often I will see the nvid4_disp error message. Sometimes swapping your drivers will surpress the problem, but more often it won't.  I tried swapping in my default drivers at one point, and same thing happens.  If you see graphic anomalies after several minutes of turning on your computer, then I'm afraid its already close to dead :(

The good news is that if you are on a desktop, swapping out the video card should fix it.

Yes, it will likely fix the problem if you swap in a new 8600
