DA2 is not terrible game  but its not a great game or classic,shame a lot of  people nowadays expect less when it comes to RPG standards  IMHO.

It seems every year the standards are dropping, how much more can things be dumbed down?..What has happened to the  standards of old school  RPGs.

Lets hope" The Witcher 2" lives up to expectations.
 

Oh please, people are already starting to whinge about TW2.  Unless you can physically see the dices being rolled, I don't think your sect of 'old school RPG-ers' will ever be happy.  

Actually I liked  "The Witcher" and even think DA is better then DA2,simplifying and dumbing down  does not make   RPG games  better,wonder what direction they will go with DA3?

As to reviews I ignore them for the most part,its what I think of the game that counts.

Yeah I just watched the metacritics scores. The critics review also dropped somewhat from mid 90 to mid 80. The low-mid 40 user scores are also very interesting. I'm stashing popcorn as we speak for when the fanboy fights in this forum are starting.

User ratings on metacritic are worthless.

I find that user review are either all or nothing and doesnt represent true ratings. Fanbois and haters, gotta love em huh.
Any decent user reviews on there usually come atleast a week after launch, first few days is always the vocal crowd.

Looking at the reviewers profiles on Metacritic.. nearly every single user that voted 0 has only ever reviewed and rated DA2. Is there a bunch of people trying to make the game look bad or something?

I'm a skeptical myself what concerns DA2, because it has a couple of things I'm quite meeeh about, but writing a "review" now and rate the WHOLE game is really...odd, so to speak. Especially due to the fact that is is out for only a couple of hours/ a day O___o

Happens all the time. Look at console exclusives.

Bah. These guys are full of horse****. The worst I've seen a CREDIBLE source give it was a 7.5. Others are around 9/10, 8/10, or 4/5, 5/5.

Personally, it seems like the old-school roleplayers that don't like the way roleplaying games are becoming more stream-lined are off to send a message. I'd wait a week or two before I look at the reviews or, like me, play it for yourself. My game hasn't arrived yet, but I have faith that Bioware did not create a game with 4.4/10. 7.5 even seems fishy to me.

Responses to DA 2 is generally positive here but outside official forum, people are bashing the game due to mass effecting dragon age 2. But even in official forum we can't get above 90+% approval from the poll. User scores from metacritic just prove my point and I predict metascore to be 8.5 few weeks ago. It's seem for the moment that's what happening at metacritic.

I think DA2, because of the way its played out, is going to be a more "love it or hate it" kind of game. It's a smaller story in the sense of being entirely in Kirkwall. Of course its gonna be more "controversial."

I'd agree that the "fanrage" is likely from old-school PC RPGers who don't like the direction DA2 has taken. I consider myself to be more of an RPG "purist" than a fan of the new hack-n-slash/console-friendly changes implemented into DA2. However, I'd still rate the game well above-average (perhaps 8/10) at this point, and it hasn't even begun to grow on me yet.

well review=opinion so if you look at IGN they got a noob journo to review and guess what enother 8.5 score but but but with a crappy one page undetailed review Im pretty sure most of these people are playing on casual and speeding dialogue through .I swear!

So yea, don't take most negative reviews to heart, the reviewers are just people complaining about not having frustrating menus and baldurs gate clones.

yeah giving a game 0 is d**k its 1-10 for god sake clearly inbreds! just sucks to have to wait 2 more days to see for myself, for reference heres a decent review can't blame him for the shortness due to editor print space but the detail is there and with NO SPOILERS!!!!!!!unlike IGN who mentioned the ending!!!omg

Lol yeah as I said they playing hack n slash on the lower difiiculy and its not a ds old school rpg!! btw while waiting on DA2 ff3/disgaea ds have been keepin me entertained so I ain't knocking them,love them too but DA is too cool.

I pretty much agree with this review.  DA2 is a slap in the face to PC gamers.  Sad, very sad.  Too bad I can't return it.

funny thing is this was expected was it not???? well lets see all the negatavity prelease pre demo pre showing even!!!! theyll get bored and go away remember most genuines wouldnt have posted on meta yet due the fact they are still playing on hard/nightmare and also the army of europeans and asian and australians will change that come friday well soon after!!! point is REVIEW=OPINION

Really digging the game at the moment. Wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so I could stay up and play.
Anyway, I was killing time on my break this morning and looked at some reviews on Amazon. This was around 6:30am Eastern time and there were already reviews ****ing about how the game was too short, ending was lame, and one (that looks like it's been pulled down) proceeded to describe, via some really vile, disgusting stuff to say that the game being even a tiny bit different than DA: O make it possibly worse than genocide.
