Also big review sites doesn't have a 0-100 scoring system, more like 70-100 which suddenly makes 85 or whatever look a whole lot worse and definitely closer to the truth.

Anything not nightmare will be less tactical almost by default. Lack of FF and all. Having to pause more because the game is moving faster does not make the game more tactical, it just makes pausing more frequent giving that appearence.
As for personal accounts of hard/easy, those are fairly worthless because there are a lot of variables. I mean if someone told me you needed to use a potion on the demo section I would have been suprised, but many people had trouble with the Ogre.
Is FF really that big a deal? Seriously, you issue a hold command lob a fireball let loose the dogs of war and then after that AoE stuff is pretty much out the window or were you often squeezing another fireball into the swirling melee?
You are assuming you will always find yourself outdoors, with lots of space to move. Ultimately, FF is what it is, a mechanic that was fundamental in many RPG's (Bioware included). As it stands, you can 'shower' a couple of rooms in AoE, incapacitate the mobs, slaughter them and none would be the wiser. On Nightmare, it doesn't quite work that way. Try it

The "trolls" as you guys call them are oldschool fans that are starving for good RPG's, and when bioware pretty much gives them the finger with DA2 they show their discontent..
No they aren't looking for good RPG's they are looking for a very narrow range of what an RPG is. They don't want to experience anything but the same game they've (think) they've been playing for better than 10 years.
I want great story. I want to make a difference in the game. I want my avatar to be my actor in the game world. Everything past that doesn't matter and DA2 hits the latter 2 for sure and I'm not far enough in to judge on the first.

Just looking at a PC reviewer
Rich McCormick who gave DA2 the highest critic review on the PC
His other reviews are
Battle Field : bad company 2 (FPS) which he gave a 90
Bullet storm (FPS) which he gave an 80
Football Manager 2011 (sports) which he gave an 84
Medal Of Honor (FPS) which he gave a 75
I went back on PCGamers website for almost a year and the nearest thing to an RPG that he has every reviews was Alpha Protocol which he gave an 81
So basically the highest scoring review on the PC side for DA2 is a FPS fan that doesnt seem to review RPGs at all
Maybe THIS is why the scores are all over the place
The high reviews are coming from critics that normally review action or FPS games and the low scores are coming from RPG critics
The lowest scoring PC reviewer Tim McDonald has reviewed several RPGs like The Witcher

All the time. Having a tank with high resists/immunity goes all the way back to BG/II.
If your only casting big spells to start off combat it's just making things more difficult I think , especially when your tank is the perfect mob magnet anyway.

Professional reviewrs can be just as biased and wrong as under reviews. And they can be bought to boot.

wait for it...
You can not remove or change everything that makes one game a great RPG and expect to get praises from everyone..
DA2 is no doubt a very good, maybe even a great game.
But it is not a great rpg, nor it is a great Dragon Age game..
What sad is that you set the standard and then ignored it..
But that isn't your goal is it.. At least not any more..
The goEAl is to sell the game even if it gets lower scores..
The goEAl is to sell the game no mather what label it gets..
Again, honesty, you might pull it off. With DA2 and ME3 and the rest..
But don't expect that you will be pated on your back for doing it..

A review can't be "wrong". It's a matter of personal taste.

Frankly, I have a hard time believing ANY revies...except of people who's tastes I know.

If you take them at face value (just an example) then each person will like/hate different things to a different degree.
Lets take the re-using stuff over and over. Some people will immediately chime in "Well X game did that too" or "I don't care". But it's still a negative point. Especially in a game set in a small area.
There are enough of those types of situations that add up to a mediocre score, rather than any one overwhelmingly bad flaw.

Something like that.

Unfortunately, there isn't really a debate. It's obvious the game was designed with the consoles in mind and PC gamers recieved nothing special.

Just stop, so was Kotor, Jade empire and Mass effect, and then they were later ported to PC, they all turned out to be amazing rpgs.
I haven't played DA2 yet (Is British, not released here until Friday) but I dont like the sound of the changes Dragon age 2 has done, I hope it's not so bad when I eventially play it.

Certain magazine never pulls a stunt like that again and gives a high rating.
Notice how Final ****gotry 13 got high reviews in japan when it's the worst of the series.
Cough cough cough

bioware i bought all of your RPG's since BG2 to ME2, and after all the love i gave you this is what I get in return? do you hate us PC gamers?
Is not just PC gamers that are disappointed with this - you think all console gamers love spamming 'a' and think that's a brilliant 'RPG' experience?
Why are bioware heading in this direction, of taking out features, masquerading it as "streamlining" then releasing it as a "fully improved" sequel?
It goes against the very gaming nature of what sequels entail - they are supposed to get richer in features and gameplay, not dumbed down by every passing game.
From a very disappointed console gamer.

I guess someone at bioware heard the term “less is more” sorry guys not when it comes to games.
At this rate you can only imagine what ME3 going to be like following bioware’s recent trend.
