Elite PAL, bought just prior to announce of slim.
DA2 installed to HDD without issues. Disc surface appears unblemished. Regular retail version (I don't think it's a signature edition - didn't preorder). Disc unreadable error multiple times on transition from second cutscene (the one where the seeker starts with "Bull****"). After clearing cache was able to play on through remainder of first section with a vocal glitch at the same point in the cutscene where it crashed previously. Then disc unreadable error loading after cutscene with death of ser wesley.

PAL elite console, about 9 months old. Retail DA2, disc appears undamaged. Game installed to HDD without issues. Disc unreadable error consistently at second cutscene (where the seeker calls bull****). After clearing cache again, game hung at same point the continued with a glitch in the sound at the same point. Disc unreadable error when loading the next game section after the death of ser wesley.

I bought another copy of the game and installed it to the hard drive. Haven't encountered any issues since then. So that leaves with a signature version disc that has some defect with it

I was able to install my Sig copy onto my USB drive so no more disc unreadable but it does seem so far to be an issue with the Sig Ed discs.

I had this problem but just this morning I've managed to play the first portion of the game and now I've installed it to the hard drive. Maybe I was just lucky but give this a try...

Turn you Xbox 360 off and remove the Memory Unit (if you have one) I did this in a last act of desperation and managed to play the game fine and eventually install it to the hard drive.

I hope this helps because I know how horrible it is, such a great game. Good Luck.

Like I said before if you have success playing the game, be brave and jump back to the dashboard and install it to the hard drive to be safe from future problems.

I have the Bioware Signature Edition with the same problem, and at first tried to return it to GAME (which they didn't like!) but after finding this thread I played around with my Xbox, turned off Live and removed my HDD, which seemed to cure the problem.

At the moment, I've copied my saves onto a usb, but unfortunately the game will only run without the hard drive or being connected to Live. Still, if you're desperate, it's playable.
Let's hope Bioware sorts this asap!

I went back to the store where I bought my regular edition and they were more then willing to exchange my copy. I received that copy in the mail today and I now have absolutely no problem whatsoever. Dunno about savegame issues etc. but atleast the game is working / starting flawlessly atleast. Just thought people would like to know. Good luck evereyone.

I have a 360 Elite 120 GB and I've experienced this issue a few times. I have to reboot my xbox a couple times without the disc in the tray for it to finally read it.

I got my copy working by just taking the disk for a resurface.I took my sig edition back to the store so i can get a normal edition. They said they would clean it and try it. I had already cleaned it with brasso at home and the disk was perfect.

They tried it, didnt work. Cleaned it, it worked. Worked at home then also. £2 at game or blockbuster.

Now i am suffering bugs of the game, save game corrupts and stat loss bugs ;( still good game mind :)

Sorry for the delay on this, we're trying to get to things as fast as we can.

If you're having install issues with your discs, and you're able to workaround the issue with general resolutions (copy to hard drive, etc.) it is most likely you've got a defective disk.

In light of that, please feel free to contact Customer Service, and they should be able to provide you with solutions. You can contact them at http://help.dragonage.com/

Same issue here. Signature Edition for X360 (launch system). Worked fine for a few days no issues but now everytime I try to launch the disc it tells me it is unreadable. I just keep opening and shutting the tray, restart the system to get it to eventually work. Issue does not occur with any other discs.

I own an arcade version xbox with a regular edition of Dragon Age II.

My game won't even load past the initial loading splash screen before getting this error.
Attempts to install this game to a hard drive have failed with the same error.

As a result, all my BioWare games are in revolt as I have been getting increasing disc read errors from Dragon Age Origins (never having ever had that issue prior to getting DAII)
As well as my copy of Mass Effect II (which usually errors out loading to the main menu)
The Dragon Age II Demo plays just fine until you finish talking to Flemmeth. (The demo, obviously, doesn't even require a disc and whether or not I have a disc in the console I get this error so, really, how is that even possible?)

I tried the solutions provided on the site and still to no avail. I have tried exchanging it a few times and each copy gets the same results. It isn't a HDD issue as the game runs fine on a friend's console with my HDD attached. I took my xbox apart to check for damage, dust, ect. Nothing hardware appears to be the issue as I am able to play all my other games without any trouble Arcade or disc.

Weird that this only has been happening with my BioWare games and only after trying to play DA: II. Origins and Mass Effect 2 worked flawlessly before. Now it's a fight just to get the console to recognize them as being in there or not being a DVD only to eventually error out upon loading.

I'm not a happy Panda about this one bit. I hope they get a fix on this soon.
