Is anyone else getting a lot of freezes during conversations? I'm only less than an hour or so into the game and so far the game's frozen on me 3 separate times. All of them happened during conversations.

Please don't say stuff like this :( It makes me flashback to Fallout New Vegas.

The game has froze on me twice now, both times while attempting the first conversation with Athenril. If I can't get further with her, I may have to restart because I've already completed the Meeran option (took the money, let the guy walk) and had saved after doing so.

I've also experienced this issue in the quest " The Unbidden Rescue". It's consistent, and so far it freezes at the exact same spot forcing me to manually turn off my system.

Mine froze twice now,not in conversations, but in Battle. Specifically, the Orge Battle. I had to reset it. I just want to leave Lothering at this point.

Freezes for me when I click "new game," much less getting to a customize screen.

Bioware, this is trash. Not happy I preordered this right now... and I got both the PC and PS3 version. Can't get the PS3 version to work.... Common now, wtf.

If you have a number of saves from Dragon Age: Origins on your PS3, the menu at the customization screen might take quite some time to load. It may appear to be frozen, but the game is reading through the save files. We are aware of the issue and are looking into it.

I had no problems at the customization screen, but it froze during the 1st conversation with Aveline, while meeting her and Wesley. I had the "Send game stats to Bioware" turned off. I'll try again with access to the internet cut off and see if the problem persists.

Ive been playing the game for some time today. from what i can see it freezes during conversations for me after i restart the system its like every hour or two. So make sure u save often. I can only hope that bioware has an emergency patch in the works. It really needs it bioware if your reading this.

Yes, twice - once in conversation with the guard just prior to the mercenary attack while trying to enter Kirkwall, and again while talking to the Dalish Keeper for the first time.

If those affected can provide some information about your systems, we can hopefully attempt to gauge the types of users being affected and track some of these issues down:

What Model of PS3 are you playing on?
Original Models (20gb, 60gb)
2nd generation (40gb, 80gb, 160gb)
PS3 Slim

Which firmware version are you running? Are you running the latest official Sony firmware?

Are you logged into PSN or logged out of PSN?

Are you logged into the EA servers or logged out of the EA servers?

Which copy of Dragon Age 2 are you running? (Regular edition, Signature Edition)

Playtime before the crash. A rough estimate should work.

Im using an original ps3 60 gig version i have all the updates available from the psn network. Im am logged into the playstation network constantly. Im also logged into the ea servers. This is the regular ps3 edition. Like i said it happens every hour or so during conversations only. Im now five and a half hours into the game. It doesnt seem to matter who im talking to. Just that its a conversation.

Frozen during a mission for merlan. A trap goes off in a room with 2 doors and a fight breaks out and Surprise surprise frozen game every time. I tried deleted game date and re-downloading it ALL and still freezing at that point. :( not happy.

Here's my info:

*2nd generation (40gb, 80gb, 160gb) Metal Gear Solid Backwards compat ps3.
*Lastest offical firmware. Not a hacked or cracked system
*Logged into PSN
*Logged into EA servers
*Signature Edition
*How much gameplay? Uh, I cant even get to the customization screen.

I have ME2 and DA:UE saves. I give the game over 30 minutes to load after pressing "new game" and nothing. Reinstalled game data, nothing.

You're making a very, very loyal customer very, very upset. This should not be an issue for a console game. Period.

I am playing on a 120GB PS3 slim, with firmware version 3.56.

I was logged into neither PSN nor the EA Servers when my console froze.

I am playing the Signature Edition, with all of the bonus content downloaded (though Fadeshear and the Lion of Orlais shield did not appear).

I have played roughly four hours. The game froze during a conversation with Fenris (after his initial "recruitment mission").

Logged out of EA servers, deleted every save I didn't want from DA:UE, got the game to work.
New game option will NOT work if I am signed into EA servers.

In fact, if I enable "connect to EA servers" at all the game freezes...

Edit: well, the game froze once I finished the starting battle and I cannot start a new game again.  My god, did you have a team of well-trained monkeys dev this for the ps3 version?

2nd Generation 40Gb
Latest Official Sony Firmware
Logged into PSN
Logged into EA Servers
Signature Edition
Playtime is maybe an hour or two before it freezes up in the middle of lengthy conversations. Background music and sound effects continue, but the rest is frozen.

when i dnt sign into PSN it only freezes about every 15 minutes while in conversation. Otherwise its about every other talk or clip at all. Gamestop also put my down for a copy for 360 and i got a PS3. Sadly i got none of the extras that came with reserving it. (:-(                           Posted ImagePosted Image
