I have a 2nd gen 80GB PS3. Firmware 3.60. Always logged in to PSN and EA. I am playing the Signature Edition. I have experienced my first freezing problem in "Enemies Among Us" when in the Blood Mage Sanctuary and approaching a man trapped in a column of light. The game has frozen twice in a row in the same spot. I will attempt some of the suggested fixes (disconnecting from Internet, disabling Autosave) and see what happens, but thought the devs should have another bit of data to add to the collection.

I have never posted about a game before. Brand new PS3 out of the box, 120 Gig, all new updates, signed into EA servers, took off Autosave. Have had at least 13 freezes in 5 days, actually took game back, got new disk, 3 freezes in one hour. Fix this problem soon or I am taking the game back and will NEVER buy a Bioware game new again. Unbelievably bad!!

Try deleting your game data. It worked for me. 3 freezes in 2 playthroughs

I have a 2nd gen 80gb ps3. Firmware 3.60. I been playin the game since it came out off and on. I didnt have any problems with freezing until today on the mission where i have to save Keran the Templar from a bunch of blood mages in Darktown. I kill all the mages and demons and as soon as i start to talk to Keran the system freezes. I tried 5 to 7 more times and every time it froze when I talked to keran. I deleted game data and installed it again but it still froze. Is there supposed to be an update patch soon or do i have to start a new game? I already put 15+ hours into this one and then if i start a new game and 15 hours later it does it again, what would be the point?

Around the 4th time it's frozen for me. Heh, 3 times from loading a scene and once during a conversation. Sucks because I really want to play but don't want to risk corrupting anything.

I cleaned my machine & it seems to work better now try that it might work for u guys

I played for about 8-10 hours before the latest sony system update and had absolutely no issues whatsoever. Since I downloaded and installed the update the game freezes at almost every single dialog cutscene. It is no longer even playable.

Well, i'm sad to say that i too am stuck at the "ennemies among us" conversation with Keran freeze bug... Tried it 4 times and can't finish it... I guess i'll have to wait in my dark little corner for a patch.

Regular edition.

Playtime before the crash. A rough estimate should work.

First time was about two hours and was during an NPC speech cutscene (Gamlen whining about your mother running off). Second time was about one hour of playtime in during a fight (on the mountain for the amulet quest with the elf).

so far i've only had it freeze on me three times once when you first meet your uncle and the other two were when i was signed out of psn due to "network" error
I have 160gig slim running the 3.60 firmware and playing the signature edition.
the first freeze happened maybe 10 minutes in the other two happened randomly

Lol, it's always something not working completely properly. I've just start playing the game and I already have 3 freezes and I've just talked with Gamlen!!. So....I suppose I will have to wait for some more days till someone take the quest of fixing this problem with the firmware or the game or with whatever the reason is that the game freezes. *le sighs*...

I do remember that this problem appeared before, I think it was with witch hunt or awakening that the game freezes untill a patch was released. Patience...I must have...again...patience.

I was finally able to make a character after several hours of on and off trying.. but now the game hangs in the loading screen every time i change areas =/

But, after playing DA2, i´ve put another game ( i believe it was Modern Combat: domination), and i had the same freeze as in DA2. Music still playing, but no image and no other solution than to reset the console. So, i´m thinking this is a problem whit the 3.60 firmware, and not with the game.

Not true, I'm playing NBA 2k11 and it hasn't freeze once.....I'm waiting for the patch so I could play DA2

Hilarious, but sadly true..

#1 - Bioware knew they had the same problem in Awakenings and still did not test the Ps3 DA2 efficiently.

#2 - I am getting to the point where I will not buy another Bioware 'Game' in the future, because of Bioware consistently rushing games that are not tested, and/or ready.

#3 - Added that the responses from Bioware on these forums are less and less frequent. (As well as nearly identical to what they previously said; And I do not believe they will make a patch for us anytime soon)

#4 - Ps3 DA2 consumers should get more than -We're Sorry-, We should all be compensated in some way for our time.

#5 - We need frequent updates from you (Bioware) on what you are in the process of doing to fix these freezes.

I've had a number of freezes during cut scenes and converstaions up to this point, but I am stuck at exactly the spot cavebear2003 mentioned above.
I am running brand new Slim, 160GB, newest firmware update from Sony, signed in to PSN and EA servers....I love DA and this is really sh*tting me up the wall. It's really ruining my Kung Fu on this game...

When will you (Bioware) decide to inform us about you progress to fixing these issues? 
Are you close to finishing a patch?
Have you even started? 
Will we be compensated for buying a game that doesn't work properly, or will you only say -We're sorry-? 

We need frequent updates on your progress, not doing so bluntly states you are doing little to nothing, let alone not caring about your customers.  I will not purchase another game from all companies who are affiliated with DA2 until these questions are answered.

I agree with federicius, it must be a problem with the new firmware, My nephew has been having constant freezes on gt5. Accessing the maintenence menu and rebuilding the database solved the problem.

I've only had the game freeze on my twice. once in the first hour of play, and the second after 16 hours of play, right near the end of the battle with the rock wraith.
