Is anyone else getting the problem in the fools rush in quest where you can't go into the chantry after the first two fights? I picked up the letter after the first fight before Isabella said to and I think it might have confused the game because now she just stands outside the chantry and I can't talk to her or go inside. This is irritating because now I can't add Isabella into the party. Anyone else getting this glitch?

Ok so, my game was working great until the "enemies amongst us quest" where it froze during conversations.
Got past it, went strait to deep roads, played through with no problem. Now that I'm back in town its freezing during conversations again.

I really like this game, I hope they come out with a patch.
Oh and don't know if this matters, but it froze on me while I was runnning around during the enemies among us quest. Every other time its froze has been during NPC conversations though. The screen freezes and the music keeps playing. Whatever character was talking finishes his sentence too. Hope this info helps.

For me, it's now freezing when I enter the Hawke Mansion (much like it did when I would enter Gamlen's house). I hope this is fixed soon because now I can't play because my save file is in there and I can't escape to the front door in time.

Cannot load sundermount freezes all the time (17 times thus far). Started new game after reading posts, now cannot load tranquility quest at chantry and sundermount area still continues to freeze during loading. My autosave content is now failing to load after it saved for tranquility quest at the chantry. Basically I have done all the quest possible and have put in 16hrs in the first game and 12 hrs in the second and really don't feel like starting over again to have this happen again 12 or 16 hrs in.

What Model of PS3 are you playing on? 60gb
Which firmware version are you running? Are you running the latest official Sony firmware? latest
Are you logged into PSN or logged out of PSN? logged in and logged out (to test it and still it froze)
Are you logged into the EA servers or logged out of the EA servers? logged in
Which copy of Dragon Age 2 are you running? Signature Edition
Playtime before the crash: Less than 5 minutes, right after talking with Gamlen. Barely got the chance to save the file.
Any word or comments from devs. about this?

What Model of PS3 are you playing on?
Original 60 gig
Which firmware version are you running?
I am running the most current firmware.
Are you logged into PSN or logged out of PSN?
On. Tested both, no effect.
Are you logged into the EA servers or logged out of the EA servers?
On. Tested both, neither worked.
Which copy of Dragon Age 2 are you running?
Pre-ordered from Amazon regular edition.
Playtime before the crash. A rough estimate should work.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get anywhere in the game past the menu. After hitting 'New Game' on the menu the game goes on an infinite loading loop; the game still has sound and the loading animation continues, but it doesn't advance into the intro cutscene. I got the game after the update, so I think it's an incompatibly issue with the firmware. I have faith in Bioware for a patch, because they've been reliable as a whole; just hope it won't take too long.

Hey everyone, I decided to delete my character and had the auto save off. I noticed a lot of my freezes happens when it was saving during auto save. So I started a new character, rogue male, pretty much the same person as my old one. I only had one frozen spot and that was at the begining of the game when you fight the the ogre. I kept on getting frozen at the end of bait and switch. The things I did different was I did the main quest first at the dalish then decided to do the side quest. I just completed the bait and switch and it didn't freeze on me. But I'm at 4 hours and 43 minutes of play, and the freeze happened around the 5th hour for me.....so far I'm crossing my fingers its not the case. As of right now, I think the problem is auto-save. Turn it off is probably the best solution right now, and yours saves are probably corrupt with your character. Hate to say it but you will probably have to start a new character or wait for a patch. I will tell you more if I go beyond the 5th hour to see if it works.

This is just ridiculous! Why the heck release this game in this state? Shame on you Bioware for taking advantage of the people who were dying to get its hands on this title, when you knew it had all these freezing issues! We payed for a WORKING product, not one that freezes randomly through out the game. If this was a product that people took seriously, like a car seat, or stroller that was not working as intended, there would be a public outcry and a mass recall/ refunds, but fortunately for you, its just a video game. Heck you guys got away with this with the original game, and the expansion too! Will the release of SWTOR be this way too? Not working as intended, but released anyway because you know the public will still buy it?
Impress me. Start a forum topic offering refunds to people that are sick of this freezing in game

I have a brand new, 320 gb PS3, with a save from Origins tha I loaded from my old PS. I noticed the freezes before the 3.6 update, and I only have one character. After reading about the the people who have PS3 paperweights, I am not risking playing this game, which is frustrating the h@// out of me! It's been a while since we've heard anything from Bioware, so it would be nice if you guys could drop us a line, please. I love what I have been able to play so far, so please, please, please tell us something!!! Thanks!

I have a Second gen 80GB (replaced with 500GB if that matters) on 3.60 firmware.
I have the Signature Edition (region 4) which is always logged into both PSN and EA servers when playing the game.
There was only one instance of the game freezing which happened when i was escorting the Quanari out of the city. but when i reached act 3 it has started to freeze at least once an hour which has made the game almost unplayable at this point.

Well I give up, 3 rd new game after 27 mins and the load area again freezes (its better then playing for 16hrs and having it happen). Basically the load area is when you completed your 1 yr of service to gain enterance to the city, I give up. Its been going on like this all week and I have been calm up until now. I have a 7 day return policy so its going back tomorrow before it runs out. From what I played thus far its a great game but I cannot stand the load area screens freezing up, it cannot be good for the ps3 to force a restart that many times. Anyways I hope a patch comes out so that I can buy the game again but this time on sale lol.

This has to be a firmware problem from how I see things. I say this due to the previous time this has happened.
The same thing happened with dragon age origins if anyone recalls? There was an update for the ps3 and straight after it we all had constant game freezes for dragon age origins.
Is it possible that we could get an official update on this situation and if they have come to any conclusions, an estimated time until a fix can be made?

Except that in this case... the freezing began before the latest update. See first pages of thread - they were all running 3.56.

I noticed (in my first saved game) I was missing a quest (dont recall which one) the icon appeared on Kirkwall main map but when I was at that particular area in the game ( I think it was lowtown) no quest icon appeared. I gave up on it and carried on in the game, When I went to the enemies among us quest at the same point as most (the templar floating in the air) the game froze up...and never loaded despite trying many times. I got to thinking after seeing the several pages of freezing complaints to try again at the beginning using a stock Garret Hawke as a Warrior and it has run flawlessly, well past the enemies among us quest now, That missing quest from the first save appeared and was completed and not a single episode of freezing to this point. Not sure but maybe it's a character customization bug?

according to the hackers...DA 2 was decrypted to work on 3.55. it shipped with 3.56, and forced us to update to 3.60. we all have freezes starting in 3.56, my freezing started in 3.55 with infamous. it seems the problem originated in the 3.55 firmware (at lower frequency), and has been getting worse with each update.

Final Fantasy XIII Freezes Lead To Lawsuit
Square Enix and Sony taken to court.
June 4, 2010
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment America for selling copies of Final Fantasy XIII that allegedly freeze and even break PlayStation 3 consoles.
The lawsuit, filed on June 2, 2010 by Daniel Wolf of San Diego, Calif., alleges Final Fantasy XIII has caused "severe and widespread damage" to Sony PS3 gaming systems since its release on March 9, 2010. The lawsuit states that, for many consumers, playing Final Fantasy XIII has "caused their PS3 consoles to freeze and become totally and permanently inoperable." Wolf said he purchased a copy of Final Fantasy XIII the day it was released, and when attempting to save his game, his PS3 became unresponsive and would no longer play any other media after restarting it.
"Both Defendants are eminently aware of the damage being cause by their defective products, and have chosen to do nothing about it," the lawsuit says.
The suit also alleges that both Sony and Square Enix blamed the issue on each other. Square Enix said the issue resulted from Sony's console, and Sony blamed the issue on a faulty Final Fantasy XIII game disc. Neither company allegedly offered to cover the cost of repairing PS3 consoles.
The class seeks more than $5 million in damages and other financial relief.
Square Enix has not responded to requests for comment at this time. Sony told IGN it does not comment on legal matters.
A copy of the lawsuit in PDF form can be seen here.
