Second freeze happened in the deep roads. Again, completely random during combat.
The only consistency is that this happens during combat. The PS3 remains frozen until I turn it off and on again.

No new posts in days; Not even one update upon their progress..
I stopped playing last Wednesday when DA2 froze over a dozen times during 'Enemies Among Us' and reading other players state that their Ps3 is broke (Can't play any media, games, etc.)
Yet while Bioware is not at work helping us, they sure are at work advertising this game everywhere.
On a Side Note:
I went to my local GameStop and was talking with the employees about this problem, only one had DA2 for the Ps3 and experienced the same thing we all are. While there I stopped another customer from buying DA2, telling him what I am (And we) are all going through.
I asked if the manager was there but he was not, but he is working later tonight. I was given the phone number to call him about this issue, my hope is to have DA2 for Ps3 stop being sold there until Bioware fixes this problem, but I can sh8t in one hand and hope in the other as the saying goes.
I firmly believe if everyone here bands together and individually goes to their local GameStop and talks with the managers there, we can stop other customers from paying for a broken game. We got screwed and there is little to nothing we can do about it - But we can help fellow gamers from making our mistake (Buying a broken game). Maybe then Bioware will become pro-active about fixing this.
Lastly - When will Bioware update us on their progress!? Will we be compensated (Besides "We're Sorry") We deserve our money back, as well as

ever since i turned off autosave the game has been working
Turning off autosave did nothing for me. The very first loading screen after New Game freezes for me 99% of the time. If I do get past that, it freezes during the very first fight. I am so disappointed right now. I just want to play...

As an experiment I disabled my internet connection under the main PS3 settings and noticed I had no freezing at all over a 2 hour period while playing totally offline. Might be a temporary solution, or I just got lucky
System info below:
What Model of PS3 are you playing on? PS3 Slim 120gb
Which firmware version are you running? 3.60
Are you logged into PSN or logged out of PSN? Yes
Are you logged into the EA servers or logged out of the EA servers? Yes
Which copy of Dragon Age 2 are you running? Signature Edition
Playtime before the crash. A rough estimate should work? About 30 minutes to and hour.

I have had a lot of random freezes (especially in mid conversation with NPCs) or in battles that require a reset of the entire system.

You are lucky... I've tried everything everyone has suggested on here and so far I am still getting the same freezes.

Here's my info:
PS3 Model - PS3 Slim 120GB
Firmware Version - 3.60
Logged in PSN - Yes
Logged in EA Servers - Yes
Game Edition - Signature Edition
Play time- Around 16 hours
Issue (Very Minor Spoilers):
Whenever I speak to Yehven in Hightown to inform him I finished the quest "Fool's Gold", the game freezes. The music still plays, but the game gets stuck while he is talking. Usually around the 2nd sentence he speaks or the 4th. I have tried 2 times and both times I have to manually turn off my PS3...
The quest IS optional, but so far I have not skipped sidequests or secondary quests and will not continue playing until I can finish "Fool's Gold".
I couldn't resist any longer. I deleted my game data (first thing that came to mind), reinstalled, talked with Yehven again, skipped the dialogue and...
Which means I can continue to enjoy the rest of Hawke's story. Horray! Hope it's not just a temporary fix...

It only ever freezes for me right before a cutscene. I could just usually restart my ps3 and it would work the next time, but with the cutscene in the Blood Mage sanctuary it freezes every time and I can't get past it.

I don't really care if they post anything or not right now as long as they are working on fixing the game. As for your other plan to boycot the game, problem with that is apparently there's a lot of other people who played the game on ps3 with no problem at all. So you're most likely stopping people from buying a game that would have work properly for them. That probably why they are having problem finding the problem, if its not universal and only affects a certain group then its hard to pin down the problem...it could be because of something saved on certain peoples ps3 which could be problematic cause they dont know whats on our ps3.
as for compensation, i still like the game, its not really necessary for me as long as they fix the game.

Tried logged in and out to both EA and PSN
Latest Sony Firmware
Have had only one freeze during play, but freezing 9 of 10 times upon trying to load to another area.
Have re-installed Game Data
Have deleted origins saves, as well as all downloaded demos, and all but a handful of other save games
Have tried with auto-save on and off
Would appreciate any indication of progress/ideas?
Developers must be working furiously to fix, but a one minute update by Bioware once a day shouldn't take too much time away from patching or be too much to ask?

As I mentioned previously in the main thread regarding this issue:
"It should be noted that these problems involving the game freezing or crashing is only affecting a small portion of the total user base, and that we are working diligently on narrowing this down so that every user affected can enjoy the same experience as those who are not. I understand that its frustrating when something does not work right and it seems like no one is listening, but we are listening to what you're saying.
All of the feedback you all have sent in to not only myself, but what has been mentioned in this thread has been extremely helpful in trying to figure out what is going wrong. The process in getting a fix out does take time and we appreciate your patience in the matter.
Thanks"
Right now, there is still nothing new I can add to this as I have nothing to announce. Some users have found a work around by disabling auto saves, but beyond that, I have nothing new to announce.

If those affected can provide some information about your systems, we can hopefully attempt to gauge the types of users being affected and track some of these issues down:
What Model of PS3 are you playing on?
Original Models (20gb, 60gb) I have the 60GB"
2nd generation (40gb, 80gb, 160gb)
PS3 Slim
Which firmware version are you running? Are you running the latest official Sony firmware?
Are you logged into PSN or logged out of PSN?
Are you logged into the EA servers or logged out of the EA servers?
Which copy of Dragon Age 2 are you running? (Regular edition, Signature Edition)
Playtime before the crash. A rough estimate should work.
I have the 60GB"
Newist one!
logged into PSN
logged into the EA servers
Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition
Playtime before the crash. maybe 3 hrs or more
Now time for me to ****!! I am getting fed up with these crashes from the game. Will you please figure it out so i dont have to keep turning my system off the wrong way. When it freezes it freezes everything. Come on guys get it together geesh!!!!
