I wonder If I'm the only one having this problem, but whenever I try to enter "The Hanged Man" the game go's to the loading screen and just stays there. The animation for the load screen is still working, but nothing happens. And it's only for this area, at least for the moment. It's been at that screen for about 30 min now.

First time it froze at loading screen, I had been playing for about 4hrs. decided to go ahead and go to bed. When I got up and resumed play, I tried to enter "The Hanged Man" from the map and it froze. Restarted the game and PS3, then attempted to enter from lowtown, Again, It just hangs.

Just had another lockup I was just going back to the deep roads to rescue the three brothers, and had just started to talk to brother #2 (where the crystal Ogre was the fist time) and it locked up in the conversation with him, first the video froze but the audio/speech kept playing but at the end of the sentence no responce at all.

It is probably too late for many people, but if people can list what their inventory is that is causing issues in places where stripping it all off is a workaround, that would be very helpful in trying to narrow down whether or not it's specific pieces of equipment causing problems, or some other systemic issue.

i assure you.. it has nothing to do with equipment.. how would equipment be an issue when it's freezing for some people during character creation? lol come on guys..

I hope there's a fix for this soon, it's gotten that bad that I'm just too afraid to play the game incase all the forcing restarts messes up my ps3. Would really like to play the game. >

Agree as from Act 1 to Act 2 I only had 4 freezes but now in Act 3 its happening more and more often from freezing when I suddenly change direction or when I having a conversation.

I have a new ps3 slim, only a few months old.

Ok so I went back and erased my save. Then completed all the tasks to get all of the promo items. Went back and restarted. I did not change the appearance of My character. I did not load a DOA. I turned off auto save. I have played all of the missions (for daytime) that i can so far without getting either the Elf Warrior "Bait and Switch" or the Elf Mage from the Flemith Quest (forgot what quest that is called) and I have not had a single freeze. I have it saved right now right before the Flemith quest I will finish that tonight and see if the freezing begins again. I am going to go get the Elf mage tonight and see if that starts freezing. if it does not I am going to restart from that save and go do Bait and switch then get elf mage ( I started freezing as soon as I got the Elf Warrior from Bait and Switch on the first go round and I did not have all the promos unlocked)

Strange, I'm now 24 hours into the game. I had one freeze right at the start before the ogre...but it's been perfect since then. So it's not a simple issue that happens predictably.

I have DA:O saves present but I did not load them

I started out as a Male Hawke Rogue and was able to play about 3 hours into the game before my first freeze. (Always in conversations or cutscenes)  After experiencing several more freezes but getting about 4 more hours into the game i came here.  I will say that i took the advice of some others here and DELETED my game data, disabled my auto-save, and started a new game.  Since i did that i have only had one freeze(on a loading screen and was not a hard freeze, i was able to use XMB to exit the game and restart...  All my other freezes had been in conversations and cut scenes and required a power cycle, so i dont consider these to be releated)  Also i never had a problem with the "enemies among us" quest been through it 3 times and never had a freeze there even before i disabled autosave, I never used the "naked" workaround.

Also i have not seen anyone else here mention it, but this also happened to me on the DA2 Demo (again freezes always happened on conversations or cutscenes and required a power cycle).  I played the demo on the previous firmware, but i was still always logged in to EA and PSN.

Great game, hope you guys can get this figured out right quick.  Cheers!

I have tried the game on PS3 SLIM 120gb, PS3 SLIM 320gb and PS3 500gb all with latest firmware. But the game freezes sometimes 20mins 40mins and some rare times after 2hr of playtime. Really anoying this. I have all DLC for it only missing last 3 items from playing Dragon Age Legends. I also have bought The exiled prince addon.

Just wanted to add that the Demo worked flawless on my consoles. Maybe i was lucky with the demo i dont know?

It seems that auto save has the problem People.just delete your saved game guy's (I know it sucks) and restart the game with auto save off and don't rush through the game take your time with the Dialog scenes and don't move around when you do save your game because when you do the saving of the game has to update it's self with every step u take.I've done this and so far so good I'll keep you all updated if I run into another freeze.and So far my friends haven't had any freezes on their game So I don't know what to say to that I guess it's just luck.

Had the game for a full week now and achieved almost 4 hours of gameplay..... and upwards of 100 freezes. Great entertainment value!

I loaded my frozen Rogue (Enemies Among us), and stripped my character. Guess what happened? It played through the cutscene with such little issue, I thought I was watching a movie. . . Or having a stroke.

Note that I did not remove my weapon, just as a test. I had Swarm equipped.

So you can't tell me now, that it isn't an equiptment issue, because absolutely NOTHING else was helping me get past that quest until now. Hooray naked bug?

My experience is the EXACT same as this, with same version of PS3, firmware, version of game, etc. - only difference is that mine was bought over Amazon.

CORRUPTED SAVES FROM DLC: my latest theory. I started a new game last nite, hawk mage with imported save, with auto save off. i played 6 hrs w/o a freeze. On my first playthrough, the game froze right after all of my DLC quests were loaded, it flew through all quest info "blocks" in like 30 seconds, they were loaded during conversation with mother (with autosave on), and frooze during said conversation. the second time around, the DLC loaded nice and slow, was actually able to read it.....NO FREEZES!! with all the glitches and hangups in the game, it seems autosave is at fault, the game tries to do too much while autosaving. i'll keep you guys posted.

Some times it helped to change one of my companions but I Couldn't get pass Inside Job, in Darktown. So tried disabling Auto-save and stripping all gear except my weapon. And did get thoug with out problems with my half nake guy.

i hate posting but this is aweful. love the game but just keeps freezeing now i cant even play 1 min without it freezeing. ps3 slim 3 moths old shouldnt be happening. seems to becomeing the norm with all new games though.

I think Crash_Shady is on to something here. The DLC seems to be present in a lot of the posts and a data corruption fits the bill for the problems. Has anyone else tried creating a new character with auto save off with success?

After taking my equipment off I was able to pass the freeze during "Enemies Among Us" Since then the freezing issue has been once every few hours. Much better than before/during that quest. Still no update/response from Bioware in days though?.. Wish they polished games like Blizzard does..

Considering I cannot create a character, this is not going to help me at all.

Mine keeps freezing during the exact same conversation, and usually only after I have made a choice on what to say. I cant recall how many hours in I am.

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS AFTER THIS**


Its during the Anders companion quest where we end up fighting some Templars who are going to make Tranquil a young woman in the underground. I defeat the Templars while Anders is freaking out as Justice. And as he is about to talk to the woman, it freezes.

The farthest I have ever gotten in the scene is actually making a choice of what to say to him as he is confronting her, and as soon as I make the choice it immediatly freezes. My autosave is just as the fight starts and my last save before that is the start of the area. I really would love to not have to go back really far.

Any news Bioware?

i'm still waiting for an update on the progress of these issues... 9 out of 10 times my ps3 soft freezes on loading screens.. i've pm'ed a mod 3 times over the past 5 or so days and didn't even get a response...

Bioware is really shafting us consumers... I don't care if it's a "minority" of players who have this problem, they delivered a faulty product, i'm about 2 days away from returning the game, and starting a boycott of all things bioware, and EA

Unchecked uploading of gamedata and unchecked autosave. Have now played nonestop for 7hr.. Note! Did not delete any saves only unchekced above options in Options and acount options.
