So Far all I seen is a glitch when you first meet Aveline and Wesley in the beginning of the game before the oger fight I was in a conversation with them and when I finished it The whole conversation restarted itself like it never happened the first time.
PS3=320gb
Latest firmware
Signature edition Game.
logged into psn and EA servers.

If this helps, I have a 40gb fat PS3, latest firmware. I backed up and deleted my Mass Effect 2 saves. I couldn't move my Dragon Age Origins saves.

It froze during the conversation with Aveline and Wesley when you first meet them in the prologue.

After that, I turned the internet off and played for an hour. I'm into Kirkwall now and have just gotten my bonus items. Didn't run into a freeze. Took a break now. I'm keeping a playing diary, but so far so good.

If those affected can provide some information about your systems, we can hopefully attempt to gauge the types of users being affected and track some of these issues down:

What Model of PS3 are you playing on?
Original Models (20gb, 60gb)
2nd generation (40gb, 80gb, 160gb)
PS3 Slim

Which firmware version are you running? Are you running the latest official Sony firmware?

Are you logged into PSN or logged out of PSN?

Are you logged into the EA servers or logged out of the EA servers?

Which copy of Dragon Age 2 are you running? (Regular edition, Signature Edition)

Playtime before the crash. A rough estimate should work.

Model: 2nd generation 80 gb

both logged in and out of PSN

when logged in.. im logged on the EA servers.. when logged out.. im logged out completely

Copy: Regular edition

Playtime: 1 hr

i am using a 40 gig ps3. i have all curent firmware updates. and it froxe on me 3 times. always in a conversation. and what really hit me hard is that after the 3rd freez i had to reset my ps3 and now it wont play any kind of physical media. cds, games, blue rays or dvds. i know its a known issue that the drives stop working. but i think its directly related to da2 freezing constantly. da2 i think caused my ps3 drive to break and now my ps3 is a paper weight thanks ea. is there any way ea can help me out?

It keeps freezing during conversations, each time I have to reset my ps3. At this point I'm getting afraid of losing all the stuff on my hard drive. Also skipping through conversations I've heard already seems to make freezing happen a lot more frequently.

Model: 2nd generation 80 gb
Running latest firmware
Logged into psn
Logged into EA servers
Copy: Regular edition
Playtime 2 hours

2nd generation, fully updated, logged into PSN, logged into the EA servers, Regular edition, and it's frozen 5 times now, first time at about an hour and a half, usually once every hour or so, and always during conversation. Music still runs in background but nothing works, including pressing the PS button. Have to manually turn off console.

I encountered a freeze yesterday and had to shut down my PS3 manually

It was on the gunpowder quest (hope it's called this in english, I play the german version) shortly after metting the qun mercenery. It was on the second group of enemies, but didn't happen the second time I went there. And it wasn't during a conversation but directly after a fight. One thing I noticed is that not all enemies there played the normal death animation after being defeated, but rather just went into their final death animation state. Looked very odd and maybe it got something to do with the freeze.

* Model : Old (fat) PS3, 80 Gigs, second gen without PS2-compatibility
* Firmware is the latest official
* Logged into PSN
* Logged into EA account
* DA2 Signature Edition (german)
* Playtime was 3h 28mins

- I have a 2nd Generation PS3 80gb, however I put a 320GB hard drive in it.
- My Firmware is The Official 3.56.
- I have frozen both Logged into PSN and Offline.
- Likewise, I also have frozen both logged into the EA servers ,and offline, (Once it wouldn't even log me into the servers)

- I am playing the Regular Edition.
- As for the playtime before it crashes, it either crashes before I even start playing, or up to the Orge Battle (Ergo, The part where either Carver/Bethany dies) so, what's that, 20 minutes in?

It is also worth noting that I don't have DA:O on my PS3, as well as the fact that it decided to play smoothly later on in the night...I made it to recruiting Varric before I called it a night. Not sure if it'll freeze again, but it's worth looking into on here.

Playing on a PS3 slim, signature edition of the game. My game has frozen twice, both times after about an hour and a half of play. One time in Viscount Way after looking at a new Codex entry and once during battle in Hightown (Night). Using the most updated firmware, logged into PSN and EA.

Is there a difference between the regular edition disc and the SE disc? I thought they were the same just that the signature came with a code to download the exiled prince dlc. I have an 80 gb 2nd run ps3 with the latest firmware updates. I have not had any freezing issues. I also disabled the auto save and turned off persistant gore because these would cause freezing issues in my DAO game. I play totally off line. I don't know if this would help but to be honest Bioware needs to look into it if the regular disc is different from the SE one.  I have played about 12 hours ( about 4 hours each time)  all together with no freeze.   I have noticed a glitch where if you complete a side quest for gold that does not have a cut scene and you continually hit the x button it will continually give the money reward and xp.  This is kind of annoying for me anyways.

I played for quite some time last night. 2 hours straight, 3 in total. I was disconnected from the internet for the last 2 hours. Had no freezes, no problems except for some framerate or stuttering issues.

I'm really not gonna turn the internet back on until I know there are patches out. Don't wanna risk anything.

How does this go unnoticed during beta testing? This is a BLATANT playability issue.
