120GB Slim, latest firmware as of this evening.
Signature Edition of DA 2 approx 5-6 hours so far
One Awakenings save (imported) plus probably 10 or so total Origins saves across a few characters.
Logged in to both PSN and EA
Keeps freezing at the same spot for me, Sundermount on the way to the Blackpowder Promise quest when the guy stops you and warns of the other Tal Vashoth, at the dialogue wheel with the option to ask him to "join me to fight them".The music loops for as long as I leave the system on(at 47 minutes as of typing this) but the video won't advance.

Logged on.
Are you logged into the EA servers or logged out of the EA servers?
Logged on.
Which copy of Dragon Age 2 are you running? (Regular edition, Signature Edition)

Playtime before the crash. A rough estimate should work.
Around 2 hours the first time, and only a few minutes the second time.
Each was during the same conversation, too.

While you are correct about it taking time, the fact is that we are all paying consumers, and this game never should have been released. I would have rather waited a month or two than deal with this @#$%. I played Fallout New Vegas over a period of 2 weeks and only had 4 freeze-ups, this game I've played about 8 hours and have had to restart my system 6 times.

I'm on the "Enemies Among Us" quest and it keeps freezing every single time I get to whomever is floating in the air sitting with his legs crossed. I'm sorry but I don't know the name as I've yet to speak with him. It's in the sanctuary part of that quest though. I have tried everything and can't go any further into the game as it freezes up each time I get to this part. After 17 hours of play I would really rather not start over so hopefully there is a fix for this.

I understand what you meant I froze a few times too but it went smoothly after that.Look if you're willing to wait for a month or two then give them a week. They surely have sorted it out by then.We all are paying consumer but we have to appreciate that they are doing something rather than just ignoring us.I believe they're doing their best,so we just have to be patient.

I agree. While Patience is what we need regardless it is something that shouldn't have happened. I understand bugs exist in games we can't get around there. But a Freeze bug should have already been worked out.

Game has frozen about 8 times now, first occurrence happening about 5 hours in during a dialogue. Sometimes i can go for a couple hours and not have a freeze, other times when i reset the system to try again, the next dialogue i do freezes. only about 2 times has it frozen during actual gameplay. one time was just running around the city and another during battle so most freezes are during dialogue. i am now about 10 hours in the game, and still experiencing freezes frequently enough to be extremely irritating. hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Is the freezing during Enemies Among Us happening before the conversation Tarhone, during, or after the combat when you attempt to interact with the Templar stranded in the air?
For me it is happening when I approach the guy "stuck in mid-air".
Events:
Clear sanctuary
Loot everything
Approach "floaty guy"
Begin diologue cut-scene
Immideately freeze
Repeat 5x. . . Same results.
What is the npc supposed to look like? Should he/she/it actually be floating? Or is the floating a sign of the glitch?

i would love to have the ability to be patient with the game. and put it down and wait a week or two. or even a month. but im screwed here beacuse now my ps3 wont even read physical media. i have been back and forth with ea with this. trying everything they suggest. and sony wants 100+ bucks to be fixed. beacuse of this game. its very frustrating to hear posts like yours.

Alright, to those affected, are you playing with an import save from Dragon Age: Origins? If so, how many Origins saves are there on your system? We're trying to get an estimate of how many DAO saves people affected might have on their system.
I have none DAO saves and still freezing ..
