My freezes are never consistent. Sometimes it'll freeze during a conversation, othertimes it'll freeze during a big battle with lots of enemies and timely explosions. Yesterday I played for over 12 hours and it froze 3 times, never in the same spot.

The speech-audio went out while talking to the merchant for the Smuggler quest (to get into Kirkwall), then it went into loading forever. After restarting the PS3 it seems the PS3 can't even detect the DA2 game disc anymore (or any other discs, for that matter).

Sounds like that freeze bricked your ps3. It happened to me before when SOCOM and it kept freezing and after a few freezes my blu-ray reader died.

logged into PSN/EA sever
Signature Edition
playtie: 4, give or take

As for the DA:O files (playing on an imported save at the end of awakening)
14 total save files
4 or 5 characters in total (including 1 save for Lelianna's song dlc)

I've had 3 freezes so far. The first time the game froze was when talking to the guard captain about letting you into Kirkwall. The 2nd and 3rd times are both during conversation with the Dalish keeper for delivering Flemeth's amulet, at roughly the same spot (3rd froze happened 2 or 3 lines after the point of freezing on the 2nd time).

Froze everytime i played since i got the game , hardly played more than 1 hour . It seem to freeze randomly on conversations or cutscenes ,not in any specific zone or anything so far.

Is it a coincidence that DOA2 and ME2 have been dealing with these freezing issues. Bioware used to be a good company to buy games from, what happened?

It seems like my freezing is getting worse. I cant load out of Lowtown. No matter where I go, it freezes on the loading screen.

Ugh...deja vu on this one.

Another game that is practically unplayable to some right out of the package.  

Still...when you can get people to apparently pay $60 to do your game testing, why not?

Personally, I've only had one freeze and it was no big deal. Judging by some of these testimonials, it may be a sign of things to come...

Guys, seriously just focus on the issues at hand and answer the questions. This isn't a gripe forum. Lets just post what information they need, so we can hopefully look at getting a patch out for some of this.

As an update, I had 3 systems brick on me from best buy so all of my DOA data is corrupted (quite unhappy about that), so my freezing is on a fresh character with no import.

I paid 60 dollars for this game and I expect it to work, no problems. Im tired of this bs that is the games industry. How come Killzone 3 had no game breaking issues or Uncharted 3 or any NHL, FIFA or MLB product. This isnt right and all I want is a working product out of the box. And the ME2 freezing issues took 3 months to fix and it still freezes.

Got a freezing after aproxamitly 69 minutes of gameplay, was gonna talk to Anthrelsomething (the elf).

HELP PLEASE
it locks and I cannot get past the floating figure in the air after the clear of the Sanctuary. I have restarted my ps3 27 times and it still locks each time the cutscene starts and I approach the floating figure, please help I love this game and cannot continue.

And another new freezing spot. It keeps freezing during the mission where I meet the Dalish elves and walk up the path to meet Merrill. Every time the scene starts, it freezes. It's happened 5 times in a row, and I just kept trying to do different things to see if it would change it, but it still froze on the same frame (when the view changes to toward where the party is moving and you can kind of see Merrill a little bit behind the corner).

don't know, but my first crashed on me before you meet the ogre, happened when I went into the city talking to that rouge elf, happen at some conversations in city.

Bait and Switch, when I leave the house and talk with the elf, then it freezes, cannot go beyond that. I have not done the main quest yet going to the dalish elves. I don't think its just the one quest cause I cannot go beyond bait and switch

On a side note - I dont mind waiting another month or even 6 months for a good game to come out, but when it comes out and has clearly never been tested on the ps3 that tells me alot about EA/Bioware. I'm very disappointed, I rather of spent my $60 on another game.

What about the other freeze issues. Ever since i went home to collect my unlockables, i cant leave low town because it freezes on the loading screen or right after loading.

just to say, I don't think that being online matters. It worked the exact same when I was on or off. It might be different for other people, or it might be just a coincidence.

Excactly like person above. 2nd gen ps3 console 40gig, newest firmware, no changes made on it.
Imported save file from end of witch hunt - auto-save 'the nest'.
Logged into account n servers.
Playing pre-order normal ed. Got black emporium n exiled prince downloaded.

Game froze first time after about 45 mins after first arriving in
Kirkwall in conversation. Then switched off ps3 n loaded. Then froze again in speaking to the uncle. Switched ps3 off and loaded. Then froze during nxt battle n audio went. It unfroze after bout 10 mins.

Getting unacceptable as can't play game. Pls help
