 Hey everybody,

I bought Dead Space 2 on Xbox 360 and redeemed my code here on the social site. It only unlocked for the Xbox 360, and I bought Dragon Age II for PS3. Any idea how I can get the content transferred over. Just logging in on the same EA account isn't fixing it for me.

Thanks!

You have to actually play deadspace on PS3 and let it upload that information to the server for it to unlock. Not sure if you can get by with a rental copy or not yet. I'm in the same boat.

A technical rep told me it wasn't available for PS3 yet.

I'm in the same boat, Sir Issac's Armor shows up on my 360/PC content list but not for PS3. :(

The Xbox 360 version of Dead Space 2 will only unlock the armor on the Xbox 360/PC versions of Dragon Age 2. To unlock the PS3 armor, you have to have owned and played the PS3 version of Dead Space 2. They are not cross platform.

So there's no hope for us in getting the armor aside from actually buying Dead Space 2 for the PS3? Bummer...is there anyway to make an exception?

the same here I guess PS3 users are going to be left out of the armour in DA 2 because they EA gave me a code and bioware says it is involved then they gave me a new code and it was probly the PC/360 one. the system tell me to come to bioware to find out how to active it LOL

just got off w/ tech support with EA here is what they told me

Garcia: Hi, my name is Garcia. How may I help you?
Garcia: Are we still connected?
David Raimo: Hello,

i have a code for the Sir Isaac of Clark, from Dead Space 2, that i am trying to load on my Dragon Age 2 account.
However i am having a problem, i had Dead Space 2 for Xbox and Dragon Age for PS3 and the code will not link to my ps3
Garcia: I would like to inform you that the armor can only be unlocked for PC and XBOX
David Raimo: is this going to be corrected in the future?
David Raimo: there is an option to unlock it on the actual game, but its just greyed out
Garcia: I am sorry but we do not have any official update about this

The Ser Issac of Clarke armor is bound to your EA account. The armor is unlocked by using the Online Pass that comes with new copies of Dead Space 2 for whichever specific platform it was purchased for. Hence, if you buy Dead Space 2 for Xbox 360 or PC, it will unlock the armor for the Xbox 360 or PC versions of Dragon Age 2 and the same applies for the PS3 version as well.

This exclusivity is mentioned on the pamphlet included with the games. There are no current plans to change how this works.

That is a real shame. I appreciate your position, but we are your customers regardless of platform. Can you pass along a request to reconsider this decision?

why did this not apply to Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age (1)? I was able to get the blood dragon armor on mass effect (xbox) while i have dragon age for the ps3.

seems like sony is doing some shady deals

The only thing that blows my mind in this thread is that people who have both 360 and PS3 would have gotten Dead Space 2 on 360 when PS3 was the lead platform. That makes no sense. This is why I (and so should you), stick with one platform except for exclusives, especially when it comes to games from the same developer/publisher. I never have problems like this sticking with PS3. And why would you people blame Sony for making deals to make this happen? I swear, there are SO many "gamers" today that have this rediculous unerlying hate towards sony it amazes me to no end. I know that if you wouldn't just be considered total whackos, you'd blame the economy, 9/11 and the holocaust on Sony if you could.

But I like achievements more than trophies because the little number next to my name goes up...

Also, the pamphlet that comes with Dead Space 2 makes no mention that it'll be platform specific. I just read it, so I'm pretty sure. The one that comes with Dragon Age II DOES indicate that you'll need to have DS2 for the PS3, but where Dead Space 2 came out a month ago, perhaps they should have included the mention in THAT pamplet, rather than being like "Surprise! You bought the wrong game!"

Besides, where all this links to our Bioware acct, why can't it be transferrable, and why do it with this one single code, when Mass Effect 2 (Which I have for 360) and DA2 have content that transfers cross-platform? Does this mean anything I get in Legends will only be available on PC versions of DA2? Surprises are great, but only if they're like... a new car or a basket of chinchillas. This was not a nice surprise.

I noticed that I have the Blood Dragon Armor for PS3 which is weird because I have Origins for PC.Not weird but weird that it kind of cross platforms for that but not for this. I am going to as a friend of mine to burn a copy of DeadSpace 2 for me for the PS3 and see if that works lol. On the Pamphlet you get in DA2 it states:
1) Play DeadSpace2 while logged in to your EA Account.
2) Play DA2 while logged into your EA Account.
3) You will receive in-game instructions on how to retrieve your armor in DA2.

That is what it says. It would have been nicer if it was included with the Black Emporium stuff or if you would have just had to pay $2-$4 for it. Oh well.

@DrSublime Xbox only has to do with PC because it is Microsoft. And that xbox players pay for online capabilities unlike us Sony people. Microsoft is mainly PC Company whereas Sony is mainly other stuff >Stereos, Gaming Consoles, etc. not PC specific. Anyway Game People ****** me off lol.

Correct me if im wrong... but i read the entire pamplet and i dont see exlusivity to platform mentioned anywhere... Also prior to the games release i was wondering this same issue so i emailed EA through the customer support section on EA.com... this is the reply i got...

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

We
would like to inform you that 'Isaac Clarke' DLC is only for the
customers who have pre-ordered the game for the PC and XBox version of
the game. However, you may access the Isaac Clarke Armor even if you
pre-ordered the PS3 version by following the below steps.

- If
you have registered Dead Space 2 using your EA account, you will receive
a prompt to download the armor when you register the game Dragon Age 2
using the same EA account.

- You will not need to enter any
specific codes or go through any additional steps. If both games are
registered to the same EA account, then the content will automatically
become available for download.

- If you
have Dead Space 2 and PSN ID under one account, you should be able to
access the armor, with the same PSN ID, when Dragon Age 2 releases.

Hope
the information provided above is satisfactory to you. Should you
require any further assistance please reply to this email or visit our
extensive knowledge base online at :http://support.ea.com.

Sincerely,
Corey
EA Customer Support

Correct me if im wrong but i assumed when he said "However, you may access the Isaac Clarke Armor even if you
pre-ordered the PS3 version by following the below steps," that there was a solution to this issue.

Either way, why they would put xbox 360  and PC exclusivity together and not inlude PS3 is beyond me...

I think what they meant when they said, "However, you may access the Isaac Clarke Armor even if you
pre-ordered the PS3 version by following the below steps," was if you pre-ordered the PS3 version of Dead Space 2, not Dragon Age 2.

As for the exclusivity, I believe it is (a bit subtely) mentioned here:

- If you
have Dead Space 2 [AND a] PSN ID under one account, you should be able to
access the armor, with the same PSN ID, when Dragon Age 2 releases.

Hope that helps clear things up.

I think it's safe to say that things are pretty clear at this point, but they're still crap. Exclusivity isn't a problem, that's why I own all three systems. The problem here is that the pamphlet/rave card/whatever that came with Dead Space 2 made no mention that the content was console-specific, and that Bioware/EA has done cross-platform DLC bonuses (blood dragon armor) in the past. I would have bought Dead Space 2 all the same, I just feel jilted because I bought it for the 'wrong console' and had no way of knowing it.
And while I don't have any knowledge about how all this stuff works, I'm guessing it's probably not super-hard to look through the list of content an account has and go "Oh, he has Dead Space 2. Let's make the armor available for him".

Except, the only pamphlet that mentions exclusitivity is in the Dragon Age 2 case.... I  bought Dead Space 2 for my PC, and the little piece of paper with the code on it say's:

1. Go to dragonage.bioware.com/redeem

2. Log in with your existing EA account (or create a new account).

3. Enter the code below to unlock the content*.

4. Start Dragon Age II and log in to your EA account. Details on how to access your additional content are located
    inside your in-game journal.

*One-time use code available with full retail purchase. Expires March 31, 2012.

I have also read the small print about 30 times, and it does not state ANYWHERE  on that card that I HAVE to buy Dragon Age 2 for the PC to get my armor, just that I have to buy DA2. period.

The funny part here, is that on the Dragon Age 2 paper that advertises the armor (PS3 version), that I have to have a PS3 version of Dead Space 2 to unlock the armor. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't that have been stated on the game that came out first???

/rant off

And btw for those that are wondering why I got one for PC and one for PS3... I'm a PC gamer, and my video card burned out on me not 3 days after I bought Dead Space 2. So until I can drop the money for a new video card, I'm settling for playing on my PS3. And I know, I could've bought a new video card instead of getting Dragon Age, but I'm impatient.
