12 GB Ram
Windows 7x64
AMD Radeon HD 6850
Ran completely fine until Kirkwall, and has completely locked up my computer 6 straight times in the same area. Has done it on DX 11, DX9 and at varrying graphic detail levels.

4.00 GB Installed DDR3 RAM
nVidia GeForce 9600 GT (driver version Beta 267.24) 1024 MB GDDR3 video memory
Enabling DX11 gives me 15-20 FPS at best even on Medium settings. Furthermore, I experience random freezes where the game will hang, sometimes for minutes at a time, before unpredictably going back into motion. This happens particularly often during combat. I also get the no CD in tray error that some have reported, although if I just hit Continue, the game menu loads as expected.
Game runs fine using DX9, and the graphics are decent for the most part, except for water, which is oddly pixelated and full of black lines. Haven't experienced the CD error when using DX9.
You are probably getting what you should for performance out of that 9600 gt, that's a low end card. Look at my findings a couple posts above. BTW, a 9600 gt is NOT a dx11 capable card.

GeForce Driver v267.31 Beta
I'm getting very frequent CTD. Before upgrading to the beta driver, I was seeing what I guess is lag (although it didn't feel like lag; it felt like motion blur gone horribly, horribly ary) and corrupt/black textures. Now all that's gone; it runs just fine at Very High and all the bells and whistles cranked up, right up until it crashes to desktop, in 20-30 minutes.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD 6950 with the current drivers posted in this forum
Similar problem as everyone else. Low FPS on very high settings. I am getting 15-30 FPS depending ont he situation. Also, the motion is very stuttery when moving around or in cutscenes. Can't even appreciate the hi-res textures because everything is so jittery.
Must play in dx9 to get smooth performance.
It's funny because I was getting this issue in the demo and the devs assured me on this forum that they know of the issues and those have been adressed a long time ago for the final version of the game.
Riiigghhttt.......not falling for that one again.

Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 @ 2 Ghz
4 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce GTX 260M, 1 GB video memory, driver version 266.58 (latest stable for my card according to nVidia)
Game will play great for about 5 minutes windowed at 1280 x 720, low settings, with AA at 2x, using DX9. After that, the frame rate drops to about 10-15 FPS, making the game choppy and basically unplayable. While I realize the processor isn't so hot, it's not like I'm playing the game at super high levels here, and I've done everything I could to minimize background tasks and so on. Additionally, it's DX9, so I'm unsure what the problem could be.
Edit: 267.24 beta driver worked beautifully at first, everything seemed to be resolved. One cutscene later, slideshow. Will try rolling back drivers next.
Edit 2: 260.63 driver (September 2010 beta) suggested in another post works better, but after about 10 minutes or so gradually begins to hang up before becoming unplayable. Not sure how everything could run well one minute and then begin to decline, as I figure it should be all or nothing. Hangups are particularly bad in Lowtown and Viscount's Keep. First sign of decline was after a cutscene, if that changes anything.

I installed the 267.26 beta driver for my card (GTX 560 ti) and it's solved the issues In had with DX11. No more black graphics glitches and the game runs reasonably smoothly on Very high settings. (I haven't benchmarked it, so don't know the fps, but it's smooth enough for me so far, so I'm satisfied).
Still getting the no CD in tray error though.

They 276.24/26 (Same driver, 26 just supports the 560ti) fix the black graphical glitch. And it helps performance some. But you'll still be stuck at 20-30 at Very High. Unlike ATI cards that are getting 60+

Edit: Rolled back to 266.58 and my stuttering issues seem to be resolved.
Edit2: Spoke too soon. Next cutscene was a slideshow. Time to play guess the previous driver version.

Memory: 6 GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 580 (running v267.31 beta drivers)
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
High Definition Pack installed
While running the game in DX11, I get occational graphical glitches, and abnormally poor performance for my system. I haven't played long enough to experience a crash yet. Before someone mentions it, I've eliminated the overclock for testing purposes, and it still does the same. I haven't tried running the game in DX9 yet, though I would imagine I would have similar results to everyone else posting the problem.

NVidia GEForce GTS 240 w/latest drivers
Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
I seem to have most of the problems everyone else mentions here. Trying to get the game to even run in DX11 is a non-starter. If the screens even open, they're in the wrong size to fit my monitor screen. The game says it can't find the disc in the computer. I have to keep hitting "try again" as it scrolls through non-existent drives until it hits "Drive 5". Then the screen goes blank, then comes back up in the wrong resolution; unplayable as hot keys and icons are off the edges of the screen. The cursor doesn't activate the icon unless it's grossly offset. Throughout all this, the computer taskbar is still visible at the bottom of the screen.
When I change the settings to force DX9, everything seems to function normally until it comes time to actually do something in the game. Right-clicking on an enemy to attack them causes the cursor to jump to the lower right corner of the screen. Attacks won't activate. My character just stands there like a store-window dummy getting attacked to pieces. Can't intyeract with other objects, either, as right-clicking on them causes the cursor to jump to the screen corner, too.
Man... you guys at Bio-Ware really screwed the pooch on this one, big time. What an utterly incompetent debut for this game, at least in the PC version. You have completely embarrassed yourselves. You should hang your heads in shame.

Good to know this option is available, BUT I would caution you from doing so as it will probably mess up your card. I changed the inf for my 460M and it was great... for a few days and then the card started to make whirring/clicking noises. Luckily it was a new laptop and I returned it for a new one. I am just going to wait for a patch... sigh...
There's no way that it could've been the .inf. It just updates it so it detects your card, all NVIDIA drivers are universal. It's possible that it's just a coincidence, or the driver install changed your clock speeds, but I'm doing fine right now, and should continue to because I've done this before. Sorry for your loss though
Now that you mention it, I also overclocked the GPU to ridiculously high levels on that same laptop. THank you for the info. I am going to try it now and I will let you know. Also, keep me updated on how it is performing.
p.s. what resolution r u running it on?

Running RivaTuner so I can see the FPS in my G15 LCD. I was getting a consistent 30 FPS for a bit but then the framerate would drop down to near 0 FPS. It happened in cutscenes, conversations, and combat. It would stay at near 0 FPS for several seconds (20+). I had some success alt-tabing to the desktop then back into the game to clear up the issue but it would reoccur soon after. Even with SSAO off I still have the problem.
When I switched to DX9 renderer I am able to max all available settings (and force 4x AF) and I get a consistent 50-60 FPS.

This is a sad day for Bioware. This game is good, I have an older system but when I played the demo it ran just fine (AMD 3700 (2.2ghz) ATI Radeon HD 2600xt 1gig ram) now that I am trying to run the game it keeps timing out every single time I try to get to Kirkwall. Cant save before that... its been fun playing the same thing OVER AND OVER....

So you're trying to run dx11 on a 2600xt? You do know dx11 requires Windows 7 and a minimum 4xxx ATI card or 4xx Nivida card right? Is the dx11 option actually available to non-compatable cards? O.o

4 Gigs RAM
32-bit Windows 7
ATI Radeon HD 4600
The game crashes to desktop a few seconds into gameplay after the intro movie. The beta graphics drivers don't help.
I tried switching to DirectX9 and was able to play for about an hour before a hard system lock.
Any other graphics settings I've tried messing with don't help. I do have the hi-res texture patch installed, if that makes a difference.
Hoping we get the first patch soon. I quit DC Universe Online the other day due to system lock bugs that they still hadn't fixed after months.

When running in a straight line or standing in one spot during combat, video stuttering is clearly apparent. Happens with both High-Res and Low-Res textures, DX11, 2xAA, 8x AF, ambient occulsion etc. checked, as well as all unchecked.

during combat (seen in the demo as well)! I am running 2 580gtx in SLI with the new beta drivers.
My info is as follows
Win 7 64bit
CPU i7 950
ram 6gb corsair dominator
Settings:
Res: 1920 x 1080
Renderer: Dx11
Graphics: Very High
AA: 8x
AF: 16x
SSAO: On
DDoF: On
HQ Motion Blur: On
HQ Texture: On
Vsync: On
My
fps with these settings are between 37 and 45 in combat and aside from
the shadow issue I see no other issues. The sli brought my fps up from
18 so that's working right but the shadows is a pain in the butt! Please
some one fix this I will send in my dxdiag if you guys need it!
Edit:
I also installed the high res texture pack from Bioware and the game is
running through steam if that has anything to do with it ../../../../images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png

I have submitted a TS ticket through EA about my crashing issues when I have my game set on Very HIgh with 720p rez and MSAAx4 with Vsync on. Frame rates are 60+ except when I use my keyboard for movement (then it gets choppy and frames rubber-band). I don't crash at High settings (DX11 as well), but I do get the frame rubberbanding while using my keyboard for movement and camera rotation. As long as I am on High with 1080p MSAAx4, AFx8, and Vsync and fullscreen mode while using the mouse for camera rotation, I am fine; however, I feel that this is supremely limiting, as I often use the keyboard to rotate and move while I click the environment to interact. *sigh*
Why do we keep paying for games that still need work? Why can't developers make games that run on every card that is standard on the market? My card is well over 2yrs old, and when I ask what the problem is, I get some smug remark, "Your card wasn't meant for the general market." But, I see the ATI hd 5970 sold everywhere and offered in every PC on the market.
I am running an Alienware Aurora system.
specs:
-Windows 7 (64bit)
-i7 920 cpu @ 3.67 ghz (turbo on ~4.0ghz)
-6gb ram
-ATI radeon hd 5970
I hope you guys can figure out what is going on soon... I look forward to the day I can play this game the way it was meant to be played.
