I highly recommend trying 260.63 if you still have problems.

Intel i7 860 @2.8Ghz (Quad)
Kingston DDR3 2+2+4 Gb RAM
nVidia GeForce 250GTS 1024 Mb DDR3, with driver version beta 267.24, the latest available for that chipset.
Tested in DX11 and DX9 mode, with AA and AF off (I like them off in any game that can let me turn them off) on Medium and High detail with and without the high-resolution textures.
DX11 and DX9 exhibit virtually identical framerates with or without the high-res texture pack as long as occlusion is turned off for DX11, and every once in a while - for a couple of seconds during combat, or for thirty-fifty seconds during dialogues or scripted cutscenes the game will hang, the last audible dialogue line finishing properly (i.e. no cut-off), and then the game will stay silent and still for a while, and then unfreeze as if all that time it HAD been continuing to work. Meaning dialogue and cutscene portions will be left unshown and unseen (most felt in the prologue as I know from the demo how many lines there ARE and when I get to see/hear two our of five in every exchange is not a good sign) and my hero may or may not have been killed in battle while I was not in control.
If played in windowed mode at a lower resolution, like the demo, it becomes more stable, the slowdowns cutting down to tens of seconds instead of minutes, and, for some bizarre reason, they now act like normal slowdowns - no longer skipping lines, just taking an exceptionally long while to get through every dialogue.
Notable notes: the slowdowns kick in mostly in wide-angle shots (for example when there's someone talking who has a bit of scenery far away and a bit of the sky seen behind them), but it's inconsistent about WHEN they kick in - the camera hasn't moved an inch, yet Flemeth's movement is suddenly choppier than ever despite having been silky smooth seconds earlier, so it's not an issue of specific objects coming into view.
Also! The game loses EA server connection during (or because of? or slows down because of losing connection? hard to determine) the first slowdown of a given play session. May or may not be significant. The game DESPERATELY needs the "Log in to server" button be available somewhere besides the main menu.
No graphical oddities spotted though, yay. Also, the game is absolutely unpretty without the high-resolution textures. Just a heads up, you probably need a BIGGER sign advertising their availability.

Intel i7 720 @ 2.93Ghz (Quad)
6GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 5870 1GB Memory
The game crashes quite often with DirectX 11 running.
Framerates on DirectX 11 stay at a constant 15-20 fps, regardless of how many effects I toss in. There's a one frame difference between 0 AA and 8 AA, for instance, which leads me to believe it's a problem with DirectX.

Graphic Driver Version: 267.24 Beta
RAM: 8 GB DDR2
DA2 Settings:
1920 x 1200
Very High
2x AA
High Texture Enabled
DirectX 11
Random crashes only when set to DX11 with corrupted graphic (green squares on screen). Sometimes coupled with an error report from Windows saying the graphic driver has stopped responding and recovered. Sound would go as usual, sometimes dialogs in cutscene will keep on going until the next line during the crash.
Running in Window mode somehow can make the game runs longer before crashing. Also notice it crashes alot more often in Lowtown. Walk a bit then pause and wait, then walk again will also minimize crashes.

8GB DDR3
Radeon HD 5850
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Installed 11.4, and there is still noticeable stuttering framerate when I max the game. It is difficult for me to tell if the driver update helped at all. I think it does help a little. Game runs smoothly on DX11 High, maybe a dip here and there, but hi-res texture pack, or putting it on Very High will cause the framerate to dip severely. This really seems inappropriate to me, because I do not see much of a difference between DX11 Medium and DX11 Very High. Also, I can run Mass Effect, ME2, Dragon Age and a plethora of other games all maxed out with nothing below 60 fps. This game should not be running at 20-30 on my rig.

nvidia gtx 470 EVGA

win7 pro x64
i'm using the nvidia beta driver's (267.24, the one that supposidly helps w/ da2 compatability. all it REALLY does is help reduce my fps drop w/ aa on >_>), and whenever i use the "very high" setting (enabling all the dx 11 features) it's actually lagging my game harder than AA x8 (running aa off atm.) i thought this was really weird, cuz all other dx11 games i've ever un, ran better using dx11.
other info-high res texture pack tested, no change in fps w/ them on or off. w/ aa i go from 35+fps to 25+ (x2-x4) and x8 is about 20+ w/ full dx11 capabilities, 1fps
ps-the features very high enables, should only take about 1/4 the gpu power to power x2 aa

My specs:
i7 860
Win 7 64bit
8gb ram
2x GTX 460 1GB SLI'd
Running DX11 at 1920x1080 with at the most 2x AA / AF
High Res Textures Installed
Very High Settings
SSAO: On
DDoF: off
HQ Motion Blur: off
HQ Texture: On
Vsync: On
I get low framerates and the black / missing textures. SSAO off fixes the problems but I have to bump settings to High to get a stable framerate. Hope to get a patch soon because the game has really surprised me. Thanks in advance.

53-61.1 FPS (w/ Vsync on) in heavily crowded area (tested with eVGA Precision Pro 2.02)
If you have a similar build, this may help you...
Until NVidia/Bioware release updates/fixes/new drivers, these are my primary settings:
NVidia Beta Drivers, DX11, High Settings, Hi-res textures, AA/AF @ Max, VSync, 1920x1200
(adjust AA/AF depending on your machine, and certain in-game environments[combat, etc])
Simply adjust your settings either from in-game, or the config utility until you find settings you are content with. Last resort, just play using DX9 settings if you have to.
Good luck, happy darkspawn hunting!

The game doesn't have a dedicated DX10 mode (not a real one, anyway), so DX10 card users will have to complain about DX11. Sorry if that offends you somehow.Unless things changed recently, a lot of your cards aren't even DX11 compatible

Haha, what? Why would I be offended? I'll bow out gracefully because I actually am interested in this topic and don't want to derail it.

lol, why complain about a mode your card doesn't even support? It's pretty simple, non-dx11 compatible card plays in dx9 mode. Problem solved!

DX11 mode: Installed and tried the HiRes Texture pack. On the highest detail mode (Very High) with the HiRes textures enabled, I saw slideshow like stuttering like others have reported above. Backed the detail level down to High and it runs smooth, but game freezes about every 20-30 mins with 0% CPU usage and the status shows "Not responding" in task manager on the application tab. Have to kill it in taskman at this point.

Now that you mention it, I also overclocked the GPU to ridiculously high levels on that same laptop. THank you for the info. I am going to try it now and I will let you know. Also, keep me updated on how it is performing.
p.s. what resolution r u running it on?
It is performing decent, though there is room for improvement with DX10, but at least it doesn't freeze anymore. And I'm running at 720p with 4xAA.

DX10 compatible cards play in DX10 using the DX11 renderer in backwards compatibility... Read the High graphics setting!!

The game doesn't work at all on DX11. The framerate is unbearably slow. Turning everything down to the lowest settings yields a playable game, though, as well as it running fine on DX9. Even that has some slowdown in some areas of the game.
I updated the drivers, which didn't show any improvement, either. Perhaps the tiniest fraction, but none to make the game playable on DX11.

Core i5 @ 3.8ghz
2x 1GB GTX460's in SLI
8GB DDR3 RAM
Beta Nvidia drivers
Latest Direct-X
Downloaded from Steam
Game is unplayable on "Very High" DX11 with ANY combination of settings. Constant stuttering and extremely low frame rates. Smooth as butter on "High" with AA totally maxed or on DX9.
I have a GPU heat monitor running on my second monitor while I'm playing the game and I'm noticing that only ONE of my GPU's is showing any temperature increase whatsoever. That leads me to believe that the SLI isn't doing squat. Interesting.
Hope this gets fixed soon - I'm enjoying the heck out of the game so far but I'd love to see it in all it's glory!
