Definite yay for me so far. I've really been enjoying the game, there are only a few small things that bother me.

It will take time before the more objective folks render their opinions, I'm finding it interesting and rather enjoyable so far, though I'm not very far in as of yet.

I guess some folks had high expectations a continuation of Origins and are disappointed in that, or perhaps they preferred it to remain the same as Origins.

I simply came into DA II with an open mind rather than full of opinions as to how it should be done, and will know better how I feel about it after I have played through much more of the game than I have at this point, I find I am in no ruch to complete the game, I tend to enjoy all the explorations.

For now its Nay. Im not even going to play it, untill they patch in the promised auto attack option (for the 360). I was button mash fatigued half way through the demo. And im not about to tarnish the experience, by playing it now.

Definetly disapointed.

Hoping they resolve the issue sooner rather than later.

Big ol' Nay over here.

Watered down to a mass marketed every man game from something that was truly special.

So i just wandered onto metacritic and saw that the user score is a 4.3!!!! very low, however i know that those who leave comments on metacritic feel very strongly one way or another about the game in question.  So why don't we get a better consensus on DA2 going here.  If you are enjoying DA2 so far, please say Yay, and if hate it, please say Nay.  Afterwards leave a gap and write your comments below.  I will tally up the results and post them here!

ITs a very bad bad RPG. Especially if you play on the PC.
The controls are horrible and the combat is totally unbalanced. And
these wave are are really annoying. Essepcially the new ones which just
spawn right into the area.

Interactivity is almost not there and the city which should play a big role feels totally lifeless.

If you havent bought it dont buy it for the love of RPG gamer who really care about good RPGs

I disagree with what you said. PC controls are superior than Console. Totally! Did you see how they admitted auto-attack is non-existent in console? PC users had it best with the high texture patch and all. We should feel grateful that the platform receives the attention it deserved.

Spawning mobs paces the encounter nicely. And unbalanced combat can be fixed by increasing difficulty, the options are there for you if it's too easy.

City Interactivity complaints? This is a war-torn environment we're talking about! There's a world to save, no time to enter people's houses and steal their forks and silverwares like Oblivion!

Yeah people who complain are not objektiv and I am sorry but if the first game was a 90+ game which reallly felt like an RPG and now you get this here of course people are dissapointed.  Bioware claimed also its their best game yet yes they said that the battlesystem and overall game is better than baldurs  Gate 2 and now its the worst one they have ever made.

I am sorry but i am really at a loss here did Bioware really expect great rebiews with such a rushed job after a great first game?

Nay, my first... and last.... Pre-Order. It's fine for a quick story but a game like this I would usually buy when it went on sale. $50 is too much for the game as it currently exists.

Hard to say. I'm trying to stay optimistic but the amount of ridiculous gore kinda turn me off.

Seeing the whirlwind attack decapitating anything above the boots achieves a comical effect instead of the grim-dark atmosphere I was expecting.

What he said.

As well, I really liked DA:O, and this just seems too far of a departure.  It's almost like I'm playing the bastard child of  Baulder's Gate: Dark Alliance and DA:O.  More hack 'n' slash, less RPG.  I will keep it, as my daughter loved DA:O and the "refinements" make it easier on her to play this installment unassisted.  However, I am just finding the combat wayyyyyy too easy, and the game just seems too over-simplified.

The gore is immensely over-the-top.  It is more of a distraction than an eye-catcher.  I appreciate the splash of gore every-so-often...but it's seriously excessive.

If I didn't feel like catering to my daughter, I'd return it for Crysis 2 or Homefront, without question.  I hate saying that, as I am a real fan of Bioware's work...this effort just seems "phoned in".  I will give it another "go" when I finish Red Dead Redemption and Dead Space 2.

irst of all its a shame for PC standards regards the control and thats not only because of the missing isometric view. For example AOE attacks. It feels like you can only aim at special zones. Its not a flawless aiming. Secondly the combat is totally unbalanced espeically on Nightmare and because of these stupid spawns

One time you are doing good even with these killermachines called rogues but suddenedly 6 archers spawn behind you efeven your are standing on a cliff and now you are basicly fu**ed.

Also you try to resuce a guy and then it goes spwan,  10 sec cutscene "there are comming more" 10 sec cutscene cutscene "There are comming more" etc.

So I give it a Yay

I'll say "Yea"

I liked Origins more in general, for innumerable reasons. However, I feel that once I step back and just look at the game for its own merits, instead of comparing it to Origins, I find that it is a completely competent game and is, in fact, very good.

It's just... simpler.

I'm enjoying it, but there are certain things I miss. Inventory feels very sparse. There's something comforting about having a full bag and shuffling through it every once in a while. Also I have the same feeling as in Awakening, that I can't talk to my companions and they won't talk to me. Maybe I'm not getting enough rivalry or friendship points- things do seem to be all over the map with the various companions- but I don't want to game the system rather than roleplay consistently.

I wish I'd stuck with the default Marian. Having put the voice to her face in the demo and videos, my custom character just seems wrong.

Anyway, some early impressions.

I've enjoyed it what it is, an action game with much better role-playing then any other action game i have played and much better streamlining for combat.

Still really miss being a Dwarf though.

That's a bit disingenuous to the people who have posted in this thread, no?

Yay so far.

About 6 hours in and in the fist act. Haven't seen any copy-paste recycling yet. The combat is so much more fun than in Origins and the questing is also very enjoyable.

That could change later on, however. I'm waiting for the alleged design cracks to show and the often noted repetition to sink in, but so far so good.

The combat system is good, but everything else is a step back from the first game... This is a half-assed sequel that should have been marketed as a console spin off. Disappointed overall compared to the first game.

Nay .. Im desepointed.

I was hoping to get a dragon age 2 game but this is not it...! This so call dragon age 2 has as most common to DA:O as Newerwenter Night has, but Newerwenter Night is better.

(Im playing the game on ps3 and still likes the DA:O better.)

It goes both ways. Yay to the combat system and the conversation element (I enjoyed it in ME2). Nay to the fact that character customization has gone out the window. Having played an arcane warrior in origins doesn't help my opinion here. The weapon restriction is not at all fun. Only dual wielding rogues can use daggers, and only weapon and shield wielding warriors can use swords and axes? Where's the sword and mace wielding rogue or the bow wielding warrior.. or the sword wielding mage??? It seems like they took way too much freedom out of the game and over-simplified the whole experience. Even the crafting system let me down. All in all i'll still give it a yay for being a good addition and adding a bit of new experience to the mix, but i would have preferred to keep it classic with improvements.
