The meta references and 4th wall breaks get old in a hurry. It's been worn out now. It's like every game has to have the characters sort of look over their shoulder and wink at the player every now and then. Enough already.

Not a companion conversation as such, but I loved taking Anders, Merrill and Bethany along on the Qunari mage quest. If you pick the companion option, Hawke will ask the Qunari averaad (sp?) if Anders is really all that threatening when he hasn't made a move against them or anything. Then it goes as follows:
Anders: You're wasting your breath. People like him will never tolerate my kind.
Merrill: It's a shame. We're really nice people.
Bethany: I couldn't agree more.
The Qunari is so horrified it's hilarious. There he is, going on about how mages are dangerous and evil, and there's three of them right in front of him.

Also, random quotes:
Merrill (about Duncan): He had a marvellous beard though. I'd never seen one before. I thought a squirrel had grabbed him by the chin.

Isabela (mimicking Petrice): I invite you, Serah Hawke, to walk into a trap.

Isabela: That magical fisting thing you do...

Anders: A wizard did it.

Hawke: I assume you're not talking about my ability to juggle small rodents to Orlesian ballads?

Varric: Still riding side-saddle while b*tching at your betters?

I love how she hands the bones over to him and says 'Recognise your mage?' and if Bethany's there she'll shake her head and say 'You're horrible'. What sarcasticHawke says to the Viscount when his son is murdered is also funny. Apparently, she's a cruel, cruel woman. More so than aggressiveHawke, sometimes. But I love how inappropriate it is.

I think there was something more to this line too, but an elf was saying something to me at the same time....

One of my favorite parts about Origins is Leliana giggle'n and calling Sten a Softie over and over. "I am not a softie!"

Depends on the game.  Some just can't seem to stop, it's in in every third line.

I just clicked on Isabela after a fight against the Tal-Vashoth in their cave hideout and she said: "If you keep prodding me like that I'm gonna start taking it the wrong way."

I couldn't help but laugh because Hawke totally wanted her to take it that way.

The companions say (well, at least Isabela does) different things when you click on them based on the rivalry or friendship path. Isabela says (not comprehensive):

FRIENDSHIP:
"I'm bored of this. Let's do something fun!"
"I found an amazing hat shop in Lowtown."
"I once knew a sailor like you. We lost him in a hurricane. Very sad."

RIVALRY:
"What is that awful smell? Is that you? Oh, it's just me."
"Your hair looks funny in this light."
"If you keep prodding me like that, I'm going to take it the wrong way."

The delivery for m!Hawke is priceless -- he sounds like someone receiving a gift and saying "aww, you shouldn't have".

lol, forgot these.  It's from Hubert giving the Mine Massacre quest:

Hubert:  Town full of rotten mages and not one can get an answer from a horse?
Sarcastic!Hawke: I'll check it out.  You keep interrogating that horse.
