BETHANY DIES IF YOU BRING HER TO THE DEEP ROADS?????

I'm reloading this save right now to see if she doesn't die if I bring along other party members.

Is there a possibility that she's alive? Considering I didn't actually drive a dagger through her heart, and you never do see or hear Hawke actually killing her.

Apparently she can become a Grey Warden. I'm not sure the circumstances of that though. Perhaps Anders need to be present.

Just curious because I'm getting ready to do the deep roads. Does somebody have to die or is it just Bethany that dies? I'm playing a mage so she already died in my playthrough would my brother die instead?

Bethany/Carver without Anders = They die
Bethany/Carver with Anders = Choice to become Grey Warden instead of dieing
Bethany/Carver remain at home = Beth joins Circle, Carver joins Templars

So either way, you lose them after Act 1? Or the last do they stay? My game Carver is a Grey Warden now

AHA! Much thanks. I seriously raged at the loss of Bethany. If I make her a Warden, can I continue to use her in my party?

No, they still leave with the Grey Wardens, though they supposedly come back later from what I've read.  Haven't gotten that far myself yet to confirm for sure.

She stays in your roster even though you can't pick her, so I'm guessing that she does come back at a later date.

So regardless whether you bring her to the deep roads or not, you cannot use her for the duration of act 2 (I presume)

Considering what happened in Awakenings where we just turned our entire party into Wardens....uhm.. maybe Wardens have taken to carrying it with them. I mean. There WAS a whole dead dragon on a building. It's not like they only had a tiny bit of blood left to do anything with. Though I thought it had to be done in a special chalice... (I'm not to the point yet, just musing.)

The chalice part is just a part of the ritual, it doesn't contribute to the concoction at all beyond carrying it

If you bring Anders with you, If Bethany/Carver are with you, then they won't die & Ander's leads you to a some Grey Wardens(he explains how he knows). They take them & they become a Grey Warden & live.

If you leave either at home, Carver joins Kirkwall Templars & Bethany is taken by & forced into the Kirkwall Circle.

Lol, i had a feeling this would happen. Gd thing i made a save before deep roads. Im currently on a Merril + Anders party now, awesome dps and heals but i might re-do a Bethany + Anders, since i feel between becoming a Grey Warden or Imprisoned in Circle, the former is the lesser evil... Just wanna confirm first whether Deep Roads section has any extra perks(scenes and whatnot) for bringing Merril along...
