Warning: I pushed this release out as quickly as I could.  I did some things I'm not proud of - unspeakable things for which my computer science professors would disown me - but I figured I wouldn't get much done for a while as I actually play the game.

The application is simple, which is why I've named it "Lite."  I intended to work on a much larger project with a more robust graphical interface, but it's going to be more of a challenge to simulate the new talent trees in Java (especially circular buttons; thanks for that, BioWare <_<) than I thought, so this concept will have to do for now or perhaps forever since I'm pretty lazy.

Right now the logic is pretty screwy; this is basically what you can do with it:

0. Enter a name.  This does nothing currently, but will be used to populate the default save file if I get around to that.

1. Choose a class.

2. Choose one to three specializations.

3. Click "Add New Talent" and type a description into the window that pops up.  The inention is for you to plan out the order in which you take talents, so this would be "Level 1," then "Level 2," then maybe "Tome 1" or "Some Quest That Gives You A Free Talent Point That I Couldn't Possibly Know About Yet."  The point is that this method is dynamic.

4. A new "entry" with your label and a new dropdown box should appear.  This box should unwiedly and awkwardly contain every talent that your class/spec selections should offer.  It's a combo box, though, so you can search it.

5. Go to 3 (this step is another unspeakable thing for which my computer science professors would disown me).

The lists don't remove talents you've already selected, and you can't edit or move an entry you've already added.  If you try to change your class, you'll find that the list retains all the talents from the previous class regardless of your hopes and wishes.

Right now this thing isn't much better than writing down a list of words in notepad (It's probbaly less convenient, come to think of it), but there's quite a few things I have planned to make this actually useful and not seemingly pointless.  Releasing it now is really just me gaguing your reponses to the overall design/concept/etc.

Edit: BSN seems to be fine now, it's up for download here as well:

Here's a less complicated, no download needed character builder by razorfish. Yours is probably good too, but not very user friendly.
