Since noone else has started one, I've decided to slap down the Official Merrill Thread in this section of the forum! Post impressions, thoughts and the rest on the character, her development and utter lack of cleanliness to your hearts desire.


On that note, massive spoilers do follow, so you've been warned













Im wondering (cuz I havent finished and have work tomorrow) whether the Eluvian Merrill has turns up anything at the end? I half expected to see Morrigan walk out of it (if it was fixed).

I despise her. I'm playing evil and no matter how much I insult her she just apologizes and my friendship meter keeps going up. Then she acts all shocked when everyone around her is upset that she's a blood mage. DUH! I get that's probably young and inexperienced, but she still annoys the crap out of me. I was hoping I could make her depressed enough to make her commit suicide, but alas, nothing so evil has been done in the game yet.

she's just TOO cute and awkward, to the point where every single thing she says is overdesigned to be cute and awkward

she is very fun to play though--with her thorns thing, the blood magic AOE, and the pull

She is so adorable that I broke when I first met her. I so hope she is romancible for females.

(Edit: I apologize for my spelling. I'm on a lot of pain medication right now. lol.)

Yep, this.  I have a feeling her wide-eyed naivete and adorable perkiness will eventually irritate me and cause me to draw Tali parallels, but for right now... GAH!  She is just to precious to be allowed.  Her adorable little accent, and her big eyes... I just want to keep her in my pocket and bring her out to squeal over how cute she is.

Shes kinda adorable. Going to be a bit disapointed if everyone was all excited for nothing :X

yeah I know I m not really liking the romances i mean isabella is a ..woman who likes to..sleep alot...with 1000 men at once haha

As femhawke I had a romance-chat option with her, at least. (One where there's a heart in the center convo circle.)

And she made a comment to aveline about liking me. So ... probably yes on the fem-LI? Can't imagine why there'd be a heart-chat if it wasn't.

I'm seeing that people had a heart chat option with Aveline as well.
And we know shes not a LI. 
BUT . If you got a commen about her liking you- wellllll then maybe she is.

So much conflicting info out there.  It was so nice to have Lelianna in DA:0. just kinda hope the "'EL O EL I'll F*** ANYTHING THAT MOVES!"  legacy of Zevron  didnt continue  as the only F!hawk lady LI. Merrill is adorable.

All 3 of the other romance options have been confirmed to be both male/female Hawke friendly. I can't imagine why Merril wouldn't be. But then again, I don't really care since they've already been more charitable than in the past.

 All ive seen is speculation, no actual confirmation. The Screenshots are said to be shopped, theres no video yet - ((that i could find)) DA2 Wiki says they're all bi- then individual articals say nothing. 

Its a giant pool of obtuse info to wade through. 
Was only asking if anyone had done it themseleves

There's been a few times where I just wanted to slap the **** out of her (because of how much she god damn trusts demons) but at least I got to confront her about it later. And then I wanted to just hug her.

It's like Bioware plucked everything I love in woman: a cute accent, big eyes, naivety, and nervous ramblings, then stuffed it into the thing that bothers me most in the Fantasy genre: Elves.

That said...she and my male Hawke are totally doing it and she may be my favorite female character in the entire Dragon Age franchise.

I admit... that when I first heard Merrill my head hit the desk, but as long as I try not to think of her as WELSH (Especially since the majority of individuals I've heard speak with a Welsh accent average around 80 years old...) then I don't mind her at all.

I'm just a few hours into my playthrough, but I have seen a video confirming M/M for Anders.  I just don't know if it's okay to post the link here....

/OT Before the game came out I was kinda meh about Merrill, but after meeting her in the game... I just find her so freaking adorable.  She's such a goober, and I know not everyone likes the dorky LI, but I happen to like dorkyness

I'm on the fence. Sometimes she's just TOO cute, like they're trying too hard that it ends up forced. And her voice is all over the place... her VA can't seem to pick a tone or accent for the entire length of a conversation. It's not unlivable, but it kinda grates whenever she changes accents in the middle of a sentence. But she is sweet, if naive... I'll reserve judgment for the moment.

Ive never found the overly cuteness particularly annoying, though I could understand if it grates on some people at times (I rofled at Jaws_Victims problem, thats hysterical, why bother including a rivalry system!) But I think so long as you crack down on mages with Meredith level gusto you should be able to irritate her good. On the other hand she is adorable and rather hysterical at times, anyone whose seen the Merrill shifty eyes will know what I mean.

Any thoughts on her side quest and the Eluvian, for those whove completed it or are near completing it?

I've seen the M/M Anders . I've seen isabella/mhawk/fhawk. I've seen Merrill/mhawk.  I've not seen Fenris with anyone, nor can i find Merrill/Fhawk . Getting a bit '...weee SURE they're all bi?" 

Still hoping.

Yeah theyve officially announced it no? Repeatedly in fact, I thought it was well established pre-release the RC's would be romanceable regardless of gender.

Can you link me to this mystical post?! ive heard a few people say its been confirmed, yet for the life of me i simply cant find any true confirmation besides a few screen shots that people insist are fake. Was there a Dev post that i missed?!

Really not being a jerk! Just have been looking for it for days- and see nothing beyond the Wiki saying "EVERYONES BI!" then individual pages dismissing it.


*Edit* - Chouan hooked me up with a link to the offical strat guide's 'everyones bi'  statement. So....Good to know! Thats all i was looking for - where people were getting this confirmation from!
