How did she 'see' that in the end, in the sense you were referring too.

She decided that Hawke had been right all along, and destroyed the mirror. That's probably what happens with friendly as well, but I just loved the way it worked out with Hawke warning her the entire game.

@cglasglow: I'm did the friendship, Fenris as the LI. She'll definately be my male Hawke LI if I ever make one though Image IPB

So I beat Da2. Romanced Merrill. Dealt with the glitch with her final quest were i had the post quest convo before we faced the demon. But I took it in stride and overall I really enjoyed her character. I felt that she was the best romance option in the dragon age games.

How do you "deal" with the bug.

I've experienced it and had to reload to a past file, now I'm scared to even set foot in her house because I don't want to miss out on any aspect of the romance.

So if someone tells you "Don't go over there there is a GIANT DRAGON OVER THERE" and she says "Ooh are we going over there? I've never seen a Giant Dragon before." you better bust out the asbestos, its field trip time.

There was one time when it was the opposite, during Night Terrors. She was super keen to go into the Fade with me and I was like "sure, let's go" and got rivalry points with her. Only time it happened though.

Was anyone else really worried she'd be gone for good once you took her to the Fade? The Keeper said a death in the Fade is.. er, really bad, don't remember her exact words. But I assumed that was going to happen to Merrill since I -did- strike her down after she turned on me.

And when she was okay after waking, I was worried the demon had possessed her after relinquishing its hold on the boy.

I think the same happened for me but because I think I agreed to kill Fenyriel if it came down to it. I'm not entirely sure 'cause I didn't bother to reload my save to test out the other dialogue options.

I freaked out the first time that happened. I had to fight both her and Isabela because they fell for the demons. Luckily, BioWare decided to not to be the biggest trolls ever at this point, and they were all okay in the end.

No, she doesn't do that if you do the friend romance with her. Damn, I've gotta do her rivalry romance the next time I play.

She's my crush man <3 I love how she decimates packs of enemies with her wounds of the past & walking bomb combos... Adorably awkward and she didn't look too bad during the romantic scenes <3

I just finished the game (won't spoil anything, been just a few days since release, so yea) and thought I was suffering massive PEGWS (Post Epic Game Withdrawal Symptoms). So I started a new game and found out that I was missing Merrill more than anything else.

...Right, now I feel like a weird freak saying that, My friends thought I was crazy for that. Oh well, I'm used to it anyway. XD

Seriously, Merrill is so cute, accent, ramblings and all. The romance plot line was really good and emotional, though I can't compare since I haven't tried the rest yet, and won't be for some time. Gotta have more of Merrill. XD

Ive been suffering from general DA2 withdrawal, but the games varied enough that it has alot of replay value, so dont worry. Just hit Start New Game :D

I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to suffer withdrawal symptoms from characters more than gameplay. Story as well. I guess it's because video game characters from awesome RPGs like these are pretty much my only 'social' interaction with 'people'.

...Now that I typed it out, it seems very pathetic. Oh well.

Not really, Im sure everyone goes through it to some degree or other, testament to the strength of Bioware's writers. I remeber hearing years back about how people would feel guilty if the got Barney from the first Half-Life game killed.

Haven't finished the game yet, but Merrill just moved into my mansion (love the armor btw). There seems to be little differences in dialogue between Merrill's romance with female Hawke and her romance with male Hawke too, which is always a nice touch. Anyone done a rival romance with her yet?

-----spoiler-----

I was wondering if there is a way to spare the keeper or if she'll die no matter what (dalish was my favorite origin in DA:O so I'd like for them to survive if possible:)?

I have plenty of friends and I feel the same exact thing. I always feel it with Bioware games.

If you don't give her the thing she needs to fix the mirror will she still move in? i want the best for her (IMO) but that isn't what she wants... Will it mess up any hope for the relationship.

It might, I'd just give it to her regardless, in truth its her choice.

As long as you tell her to after the love scene she will.

I don't know. I mean what I did was inform Merethari what Merrill intended to do. And so she took the demon instead of Merrill.

If you don't inform her I suppose Merrill will probably just die. Though I'm not sure. I do know you have to take responsibility for the act otherwise the Clan will all decend on Merrill and your party.

God, I absolutely LOVE Merill!! :D Haven't got to the romance scene yet but I've heard good things about it.She is so genuine, she never needs to change who she is because she is just the sweetest. Can't wait to see how the romance story side of things pans out. No matter what happens, my Hawke will always be there for her :)

I actually feel really protective of her.... damn you Bioware xD

I didn't bother using her much. I usually only have one mage with me and she sucks at healing.

I miss Bethany....

Well she sucks at healing because she doesn't heal anything.

She's more of the blow it up kind of mage. My typical party consisted of her, Anders, Varric, and myself as a 2h Warrior.

I made a thread for this but I figure maybe I'll have better chances of getting an answer here:

I missed the Act 2 gift for Merrill (the carving you have to buy from Ilen). I did get her Act 3 gift (the Sylvanwood Ring), but I'm a good ways into Act 3 and her quest hasn't opened up. Did I need to get that gift to do her quest, or do I just have to keep playing?

You mean for the finale part? I dont think the gift is a requirement, just keep playing and it should trigger without fail. I didnt give her either gifts and got the quest up until completion.

I mean the quest "A New Path," but if you didn't give her either gift and you were able to complete her romance and all that, then I'm not worried. Thanks!
