Surely there will be a mod released to switch out Bethany for Carver?

For Pc versions maybe. Everyone else will have to suffer with Carver the tool

OMG yes, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt but he's such a jerk to my mage. I have another account on which I will have my PC game and look forward to the mod.

Since I just picked up Fenris, dear lil bro will be hanging with mama Hawke me thinks.

I'd rather have the opposite, actually. I like Carver a lot more than Bethany-the rivalry reminds me of the relationship between me and my sister.

I'm not gonna hate Carver yet, but I love Bethany on my rogue run. I am playing a mage next so I will be fair and try him out, but I will be sad to lose my little sister

I haven't played with Bethany yet, so can't say, but I really like Carver. I understand where poor kid is coming from and its heart-wrenching. Although it's much easier to be his rival than friend, and I hate being forced to snap at him to max out rivalry. Oh well, long lve replayability

OK, I'm kinda confused. From what I've read so far, If you select Hawke as a Mage, it's Bethany gets offed by the Ogre in the prologue, If Hawke is a warrior, it's Carver bites the dust, have I got that right? If so, what happens if Hawke is a Rogue?

Carver bites it if you're a rogue.

They tried to balance it to make sure you didn't have too many magic users... which is a shame because the only reason I even bothered with Anders was because I needed a heal spec mage...
