OK, aside from the frame drops in the game (yea Bioware, get patch for this), when I first am trying to leave my home in Kirkwall, after having gotten all of my Sig Edition items, I can only choose Carver and Varric as my allies though there are three slots available. Aveline is greyed out. The game prompts me that I have another slot to fill, but I cannot add her. Is this plot related, or a glitch??

Ok, the only thing I could do to make this work, and since I have the PC version, is to add Aveline to my party through the console. After that, even if leaving home, she was then selectable.

this is part of the story. at that point Aveline is not available, once you go talk to her in the keep she joins up with you again.

Nope, that isn't it. I used the exact save I had where I couldn't select her, then used the command console to select her. When I had her in my squad, I reloaded the save where I couldn't select her, and she was then selectable. So, it had nothingto do with her being or having something else to do while in the story. I think the game just glitched, that's all.

actually it's a part of the story because she's working for the guard when you have gotten into kirkwall
