It's not a particularly difficult achievement to get, you just have to remember to speak to him frequently, particularly around the quests the guide mentions, so you'll be going to the Docks more than usual.

I actually got it without going out of my way. I simply chose the options that I would have chosen anyway. I took the hardline about Petrice, and told Aveline I'd have done the same thing the elves did, and then told him it can only end one way, and presto, I was worthy to get killed by the Arishok in single combat. Unfortunately for him, that didn't go over so well, but hey, I got the achievement.
