I saw that there was another topic on this, but it didnt answer any of the problems that I have.

No matter what I seem to do, I cant access the console. I've done everything right step by step according to the wikis and all the online advice i've been reading on the matter, and I still cant figure it out. Can someone please give me some ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Just to clarify, here are the methods i've used:

created a desktop shortcut for the DragonAge2.exe file in the bin_ship folder, then added -enabledeveloperconsole in the target field when you right click on the shortcut and select properties

left the key binding for the console as it was (Grave), then changed it to see if that was the issue, then changed it back.

Tried editing the dragonage2.xml file by adding arguments="-enabledeveloperconsole" in the proper area

I'm seriously out of ideas. I really need help

why would you want to enable the developer console??????? theres only a few things I can think you'r tryin to do........................

Nevermind, figured it out. Seemed to be some kind of issue with the key binding.

Could you post your solution? I think I'm having the same problem.

You just need to change the key binding from Grave to whatever key you want it to be, such as the classic ~

Same issue I had with DA:O.

And the guy who posted "Why would you want...blah blah blah" dude, don't troll. Many of us want access to the Dev Console and we don't need to explain our reason. I for one enjoy playing games where I am pretty much godly, it allows for certain freedoms when I don't feel like being highly stressed while playing a game, while some people want access to it to fix what they perceive as a bug. To each their own.

Eh, I changed it to the Tilde and it didn't work. I had to change it to F6 to work.

same situation but i cant seem to find a fix, even after changing bind keys. some ppl suggested running it as admin but it just loops the launcher over and over when i attempt that.

ya me too ive tried the default setting, X, N, and F6 (typed out F6 in the bindings file).....and still nothing
