How much/any effect does a Dragon Age: Awakening save game affect DA2?

 I
only went through awakening once, with my main character from the DA:O.
However, I didn't really know and by the time I really thought about it
I was already a good bet through but for my own little personal "canon"
for my world I wouldn't want my first Warden to be the same one as in
Awakening. And I don't even remember if you can import (I think you
could?) your DA:O game into DA:A and still play a different warden. I am
ultimately wondering if it'd be worth the time to go through Awakening
with a different char. However, if the effect on DA2 is minimal, I
probably won't bother.

  Can anyone clarify, without DA2 spoilers?
