I'm attempting to run DA2 on DX9 with the beta driver (not that it helps) on Windows XP with SP3.  I've restarted and whatnot, in addition to adding a firewall exception through the configure program and also through disabling my antivirus temporarily.  Despite my attempts to run the program, after clicking "Play" in the launcher, I am greeted with the following screen:

Image IPB

...and then that screen quickly disappears without actually launching the game.  I would like to play Dragon Age 2.  What can I do?

Edit: For what it's worth, I successfully installed and played the demo on this system.

So far, the Demo's usefulness as a predictor for what the full game is or can be isn't proving to have been that good.  Let's have the details on the PC, shall we?

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)

Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon X2 / Pentium D / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed:  ?.? Ghz
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ?
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, and dates, *not* the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations.  Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

P. S.  Please use every day business style paragraph breaks, punctuation, and spelling.

Thank you for the quick update, but I don't really see anything screaming out at me except one single thing.  The latest of nVIDIA's drivers just don't work at all well with the Geforce 7n00, 8n00, and 9n00 generations of Graphics cards.  I would suggest something from the 19x.xx series instead.

If that doesn't help, I am going to try to get some sleep, so give me a fresh holler tomorrow, and we'll go from there.

Sorry, but I don't try shotgunning replies in threads started by others. This one "belongs" to its original author.

I was simply stating that I'm going through the same symptoms, listening in mostly not asking you specifically for my solution
