Tried Firefox, Minefield (ff4rc2) and Opera...
No luck with IE9 as well...
Additional I do wonder why a DA:O character just got uploaded when the game wasn't running and I only hit the Activate Online Profile Button for DA2...

0) On the computer, logged in to social.bioware.com, with"remember me" selected.
1) Moved mouse over My Games, Selected Register games. Clicked "Click here to register game" for my platform type, then put in the registration code since I have the PC version.
2) DO NOT CLOSE FIREFOX. Ahem. Started DA2
3) Loaded a save game
4) Went to the game menu.
5) Selected Options
6) Clicked on "Account"
7) Made sure that I saw at minimum the following items were selected:
[x] Upload Character profile
[x] Always log in
Linked to EA Account EMAIL ADDRESS HERE, SAME AS LOGIN FOR SOCIAL.BIOWARE
8) Clicked OK
9) Resumed my game.
10) Took a step forward. In-game, mind you.
11) Saved my game.
12) Task switched to Firefox by holding down ALT and pressing tab until I could select FireFox.
(Sorry Mac peoples, I don't know your equivalent key combination for that... please post a response to document that for others)
13) In Firefox, already loaded to the social.bioware website with the same email address as seen in step 7 above.... I clicked on Home.
14) Clicked on Profile along the left side.
15) Clicked the Games tab in my profile.
16) Clicked the (Activate Online Profiles) link.
17) Cursed. Out loud. More than once.
18) Slapped F5 ten times.
19) Blinked rapidly in disbelief as the web browser window went complete white, then displayed the same page with this under the Activate link:
Dragon Age II - PC/MAC
20) Clicked the "Dragon Age II - PC/MAC" link.
That link looks like this, where X and Y are equal to numbers that are probably unique to your account.

Now if this doesn't work on the first try, don't repeat it until your tearing your hair out. Skip it until the next day

Been trying this method for the last few days, sorry to say it hasn't made any difference! Just to be clear, my original post in this thread from about 16 days ago:Helen0rz wrote...

Same here, been clicking on that "Activate Online Profiles" link every day since release, it's still showing no matter how many times I click on the damn thing! Occasionally I'll get a "There was an error processing the request." pop-up window, but other than that, clicking on the "Activate Online Profiles" link doesn't seem to have any effect, nothing changes! I have DA2 PC version, Signature Edition. The game is registered, as is all my bonus content. When I start the game I log into my EA/BioWare account, all my unlockables and downloadable content show up and my email address shows in the bottom left corner of the main menu screen so I know the game is connecting to the correct account. I've equipped and unequipped items, made full manual saves, quick saves and ofc auto-saves. I've created characters, deleted characters, shortest time played in a single session is about 1 hour, longest time played in a single session is about 6 hours. I've waited from 1 hour to over 24 hours for something to upload! Yet still nothing happens when I click the "Activate Online Profiles" link after 8 days of trying! Is anyone from BioWare even bothering to take notice of these problems? ../../../images/forum/emoticons/sad.png
I had so many problems with uploading anything from DA:O that I just ended up turning virtually everything off, the only thing I still upload from DA:O is achievements as that's about the only part of the upload process that ever worked for me. I had multiple DA:O characters, some just never uploaded, some didn't get their avatar upoaded, some didn't get their stats uploaded and some never got their equipment uploaded. I used to see so many posts about the various problems with the whole "online profiles" part of DA:O, every so often I'll re-enable all the uploading options to see if it actually works properly, but I still get the same problems so I just end up disabling everything except for achievements yet again!
So here we are with DA2 and players are complaining about the "online profiles" either not working at all or working sporadically! ../../../images/forum/emoticons/sad.png
Since then I've tried the following:
Run Firefox (using v4.0 now), visit the BioWare Social Network site, log out of BSN then log back in to BSN.
Run DA2 while Firefox (with BSN loaded) is still running. Log out of my account ingame and then log back in to my account.
Load a game, then do each of the following:
1 - Unequip any item, save the game
2 - Equip the item I unequiped, save the game
3 - Dismiss the Mabari, re-summon the Mabari, talk to an NPC, run around, save the game
At this point I'll switch to Firefox, go to "My Games->Dragon Age II - PC" and click on the "Activate Online Profiles" link next to "Dragon Age II - Player Profiles". Nothing changes, so I press F5 somewhere between 10-20 times. Still nothing changes, so I try clicking the "Activate Online Profiles" link about 20 times. Still nothing changes, so I give up for yet another day!
The next day I'll try a slight variation, I'll do "3 - Dismiss the Mabari, re-summon the Mabari, talk to an NPC, run around, save the game" before trying the Unequip/Re-equip part. But no matter what I try, nothing works! Sometimes I get the "There was an error processing the request." pop-up window, sometimes the page goes blank, but nothing I try will activate my online profile!
At this point I've pretty much come to the conclusion that no-one at BioWare is even bothering to read any of these threads about site problems, which would mean that they don't want to know about any technical problems with their own website!
So, how, exactly, is anyone supposed to get BioWare's attention in regards to site problems? How do we inform BioWare that part of the service they're supposed to be providing isn't working correctly? Quite frankly, if this is the level of service that BioWare are providing now, it really doesn't give much hope for the future succes of Star Wars: The Old Republic!
EDIT: Correcting site formatting!

Another thing I did was open all the ports on my router as described in this thread: http://social.biowar...6/index/1276265
In my case, at least, it seems like this problem was caused by the fact that my game data wasn't being uploaded to the servers at all, so the site couldn't activate my "non-existent" DA2 profile.

I'd enabled the console to use one of the debug commands and forgot all about it! Restored my backup of the DragonAge2Launcher.xml file, kept the BSN site loaded in Firefox, ran the game, loaded one of my save games, ran around, deleted the save game I'd loaded and saved the game as a new save (not overwriting an existing save). Switched back to Firefox, clicked on the "Activate Online Profiles" link, nothing happened, refreshed the page and there was the "Dragon Age II - PC/Mac" link! After all these weeks of trying, it seems it was having activated the console that was preventing the game and BSN from communicating with each other! I'll have to remember to only enable the console when I need it from now on!Hawke1284 wrote...
I was having the same problem described in this thread - DA2 profile wouldn't activate, and I couldn't get DA:O data to show up either. Tried all sorts of things to troubleshoot it, even deleting/re-creating my BioWare account, but what seemed to finally fix it was disabling the in-game developer console. I had been playing with the console enabled for the addmoney cheat, but apparently having the dev console enabled prevents the game from uploading your character data to the servers. Not long after disabling the console and saving a character, boom, Activate Online Profiles worked and there was the character I just saved!

Its Cmd+M
How i got mine to finally work:
Using Xbox360 and Chrome browser.
Make sure you have the game registered, and linked with the Social BW account
Then on the main title screen, go to "Options" then "Account" and then make sure "Upload Character Profile" is checked off.
STAY LOGGED INTO THE GAME (i.e. leave game running), then come here and THEN try the "Activiate Profile" link under your profile.
I think the trick is, you need to be logged into the game when you update it here.

And just like Gavriel, I played for a few minutes... then I switched it off and voila! Magic button appeared and ONE character updated ><"
At least better than nothing.

Yup... Same experience as TA.
I had set things up on my rig to be able to use the Command Console back in the first week after release. Over the the weekend I discovered that doing so prevents the EA profile from updating. Once I removed the "developer console - enabled" line in the da2launcher.xml file, my portrait, achievements, screenshots, everything uploaded to the EA servers just fine.
I believe that one has to play with the Command Console NOT enabled long enough for the auto-xmit to kick-in, (I've heard that switching gear is one of the triggers for this...) for each character one wants updated.
