Finally got it to work by NOT using the shortcut with the devconsole... One character has been updated... The rest... Not really ><"

And just like Gavriel, I played for a few minutes... then I switched it off and voila! Magic button appeared and ONE character updated ><"

At least better than nothing.

Saving one character doesn't make them all update, just the one you saved.  Your other characters will update if you go into each one and save (full save, not quicksave) while the console is not enabled.

This is what I did to succeed this evening.

0) On the computer, logged in to social.bioware.com, with"remember me" selected.

1) Moved mouse over My Games, Selected Register games. Clicked "Click here to register game" for my platform type, then put in the registration code since I have the PC version.

2) DO NOT CLOSE FIREFOX. Ahem. Started DA2

3) Loaded a save game

4) Went to the game menu.

5) Selected Options

6) Clicked on "Account"

7) Made sure that I saw at minimum the following items were selected:

[x] Upload Character profile
[x] Always log in
Linked to EA Account EMAIL ADDRESS HERE, SAME AS LOGIN FOR SOCIAL.BIOWARE

8) Clicked OK

9) Resumed my game.

10) Took a step forward. In-game, mind you.

11) Saved my game.

12) Task switched to Firefox by holding down ALT and pressing tab until I could select FireFox.

(Sorry Mac peoples, I don't know your equivalent key combination for that... please post a response to document that for others)

13) In Firefox, already loaded to the social.bioware website with the same email address as seen in step 7 above.... I clicked on Home.

14) Clicked on Profile along the left side.

15) Clicked the Games tab in my profile.

16) Clicked the (Activate Online Profiles) link.

17) Cursed. Out loud. More than once.

18) Slapped F5 ten times.

19) Blinked rapidly in disbelief as the web browser window went complete white, then displayed the same page with this under the Activate link:

Dragon Age II - PC/MAC

20) Clicked the "Dragon Age II - PC/MAC" link.

That link looks like this, where X and Y are equal to numbers that are probably unique to your account.

http://social.biowar...play=characters

Now if this doesn't work on the first try, don't repeat it until your tearing your hair out. Skip it until the next day

for those of you that are still having problems, try this guy's method. it worked for me.
just load your game, make sure stuff are checked, load your save, walk, then click on the activation link and you'll activate your profile. it just worked for me :)

Woot! This worked for me.  And I didn't have to curse as Ekees already did that for me!

I decided I needed to finish DA2 recently after getting bored halfway into the game. Now I try to activate my online profile, and I can't get it to work, even following the "hints" mentioned in this forum. But these posts where 5-7 months old, and it still do not work!??!

Bizarrely, rapidly clicking the link over and over again worked for me in about thirty clicks over ten seconds.

We've deployed a patch today that should fix most of these problems. Give it a try again and let us know.

OK this fix worked for me to Activate my Profile. I hadn't gotten it turned on in the game to upload it! Doh!

However despite it showing 4 Achievements for Mask fo the Assassin, I cannot find the Deep Green Ring Unlockable reward listed in my Downloadables page...

Tried everything on this page, still no activation of the profile.

I wouldn't even care, except I want to see what the "freebie" items are like.

How i activated my DA2 profile:
1. Launch the game
2. Log in with your account in the game and social network
3. Turn on profile upload in game settings
4. Load a save
5. While having game running switch to browser and rape Activate Online Profile link

Pay attention. This is a Bioware Social site forum. It is designed for gamers to discuss site problems with each other. Each time there is a new game, a few Bioware people actually look at some forums, until after the first patch, however, they (TTBOMK) come into the forums with very specific subjects they are interested in.

That doesn't happen to make this particular subject among those they have any priority for looking at, so you cannot assume anyone working there will ever read anything you've written. You want attention for a tech problem, that's EA Help. It's not here, not really.
