i registered my games UPC code to get fadeshear and shield. it shows up in my journal to get the gear from chest. however i cant select the chest. i press X and my weapon just swings around. anyone else have this problem??

Yes, I get the same exact thing. I have the SE and got all of those items initially. I didn't realize I had to register to get the Fadshear/Shield so after I registered I went back to the chest and now I can't open it. I do get the journal entries for those items but I'm unable to obtain them.

I posted a solution to this on another thread. if you have a save from say the beginning of kirkwall like the docks...start from there. i did that and it got all my items including fadeshear. if you dont have a save start over...you are probably still at very beginning of the game. the shield is great.

if that dont get it try to leave home town enter new area then go back home worked for me

If I have to start the whole game over just to get this sword & shield I'm gonna be extremely pissed!! I'll try that leaving the area and coming back thing.

Yes, this worked for me too, I just left, went to another area then came back and the chest opened, thanks
