In DAO, DLC were downloaded in the game but in DA2 all attempts to download the DLC sends me to the Bioware web site. When I attempt to download the DLC the usual Windows message "Download to where?" appears.
In DAO this was handled automatically by the game. Now it appears I must know where. So where is where? And what happens afterwards to get the DLC into the game?
Since I see the special items in the game as unlocked, I entered the codes under the right account. Why can't I see the Exiled Prince in the Downloadable Content screen?

Solved my problem. In my Profiles are all the DLCs I have. I had to manually go down the list to find the ones that had not been downloaded, download them to a directory of my choice and then run them as they were .exe files.
Whoever came up with this scheme should get several slaps on the back of the head for a very very bad idea. The system in DAO where you could see what you had and what had not been downloaded in the game is much better. It made sense. The special items are all handled within the game as in DAO. That made sense.
The instructions when re-read several times, finally made sense. They need to be re-written to be more detailed.
