I believe they should be in your chest that can be found in your first home, where you got all your other promo loot. I had forgotten about those. It may have auto triggered the effects and added info to your journal? I know when I opened the promo chest I automatically leveled up. Will have to check it out next time I play.

I think one was in the first area just before you get to the Ogre. I remember finding a book on the ground near some other loot, just before going up the incline where the sibling dies in the intro area.

they are in the chest located in your uncles home in Kirkwall, DA2 handles Tomes differently they are used automatically as soon as obtained so they never show in your inventory only as journal entries

Yeah in your uncles house, but not in the main room, in one of side rooms.
