So just today my computer started randomly shutting down while running Dragon Age 2 every half hour or so, after which the computer starts up fine (last night it worked fine for the 90 minutes I could actually play it :)).

It runs fine on other heavy hitting games.

Here are my specs:
1000W Antec PSU
Antec 1200 case
Corsair XMS3 RAM x8GB
AMD Phenom II x4 Black Edition Deneb 3.5Ghz
Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon HD5750 1GB

Any ideas? :( I tried running the game on DX11 and DX9 and it does the same thing both times.

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Please obtain and install a product similar to Speedfan that will log the thermal IDs and max numbers for your PC, then tell me how hot things are getting.

Bumping this a bit :)

I'll download that now and give it a whirl (as well as lower my gfx settings a bit). Thanks!

I have the same problem. :(

Intel Quad Core 2,4 GHz
4096 MB DDR2 G-Skill
Geforce GTX 560 TI

Temperatures and Fanspeed is just fine. Nothing overheating and all (CPU around 50 degree Celsius, GPU between 60 and 70, depends on the scene).

PC just randomly shuts down and boots right up again. :/ Kinda sucks, mostly it is right after a battle, but not always.

Don't let it run through a BSOD without stopping for you to get the error message.

@Kyrazzstran: Some more clarification; you'll need to disable window's automatic restart to actually see a BSoD:
XP, Vista, 7.
The next time your windows decides to go belly up you should get a BSoD with an errorcode which can idicate what's wrong.

I've found the folks at this forum - http://www.sevenforu...shes-debugging/  to be very helpful.  If you read the reporting procedure there, they'll ask you to download a compiler and send them a report attached to your trouble post.  Solved a few issues for me once upon a time.  Good luck.

EDIT:  BTW, I'd look at your display driver first and foremost.  Consider doing a complete uninstall and reinstall with the latest driver.  There's a how to, based on the advice I got from the above forum, linked to my sig below.

The reason seemed to be the graphics driver. Runs now smoothly with the approved driver. :)
