I recently installed windows 7 (from windows vista, couldn't upgrade because of different language)  and after it i tried to launch Dragon aids: origins and it gave me a Fmod_event.dll file missing error. i reinstalled it and it gave the same error. i tried running in compability mode and as administrator, both without luck

and Its on a different internal hard drive

some of the google references for that file link it to sound cards... or a program called FMOD... try updating your sound drivers and do a little research on FMOD

This method worked for me: go to your dragon age folder, open the file with bin in its name (top one i think) copy all the dll files in it then go to C/Windows and open the folder System, paste the files in it then go back one step and do the same in the folder just below it (System32). This got it working for me, hope it does for you aswell

PS. i have Windows Vista so if you got another the folders may have a different name/location then i said please dont blame me =)

I get the same error when I run DAOrigins.exe. I don't even get an error when I click play on the launcher. I tried lord255's suggestion, didn't work. I went to the official website for Fmod, downloaded that and installed it, didn't work. Anyone else still having this problem?

I've done it and now I've got more errors! I'm away from my CD, otherwise I would just reinstall. >.<
