The Exact same can be said about "Good" Reviews

Why does one ignore the overwhelmingly bad reviews and only look at the good ones?
Sticking your head in the ground now are we?

Oh they are...despite the fact that the game recieved bad reviews from both game critics and customers, according to your philosophy they should all be disregarded as opinion.

This thread is a perfect example of Bioware fanboys with their head in their butt

If you don't know him, you live under a rock.

The only famous critics I know are Roger Ebert, The Angry Video Game Nerd, Yahtzee and the Nostalgia Critic.

The Angry Video Game Nerd... Yahtzee...  I see what happened.  Critic and comedian both start with a 'C', so you got confused.  I get it now.

Or, maybe they don't give two craps about ANY reviews and are a little cheesed when someone tells them they need or should listen to a certain person just because he puts his face in front of the camera.

All the more reason to play it. He doesn't even play games, anyway. Nobody from that show does.

The only famous game critic I know is myself. When it comes to games, I tend to agree with my opinion a lot.

So I guess even Adam Sessler doesn't like this game. On the new Sessler's Soapbox he says that sleeping with your teamates is the only fun thing to do in the game. wow.

It could have been worse. At least he found something fun in the game...

Adam has been a long time co-host of X-Play even dating back to when it was called Extended Play on ZDTV then TechTV before the merger with G4. Back then, the show was better when he was the sidekick to Kate. Kate was a true gamer and Adam was just the clown of the show. I remember Kate would appear on the Screen Savers and school all the guys there in games when they played on the air.

Show went downhill when Kate left. And Morgan? Seriously? She was brought in as eye candy. On the Screen Savers where she started, she used to get OWNED every week on their lan party Friday shows. Dead last all the time no matter what game it was. So when they announced she was replacing Kate, the end was near for that show.

As a person though, Morgan is actually one of the nicest on air personalities they had outside of Erica Hill who was the nicest. Had dealings with them during the TechTV era. Morgan was perceived back then as stuck up but she was far from it unlike some others at TechTV who initials began with L and there was more than one of those L-stuck ups.

As for reviews, odd thing is now Morgan I would trust more than Sessler.

This is what I’ve always felt from watching the channel. I never got the impression they actually played anything outside of being fixtures at game shows and comic book conventions.

That doesn't mean I think his review is bad or anything (It's not like I'm going to even read  or watch it. Why should I care what he thinks when I can think perfectly fine for myself?). It's his thoughts however and people trashing that (or anybody’s for that matter) need to stop. It’s one to agree or disagree with it but anything other is going overboard.

Reviews, good or bad, are opinions.

I don't understand all the people telling everyone to just ignore the reviews and form your own opinion. The purpose of a review isn't to validate your own feelings about a game, it's to help you decide whether or not you want to spend your money on a game.

I know for the people with a lot of disposable income, or mommy and daddy buy the game, or they pirate it like bastards, that doesn't matter.

But for those of us who have to think long and hard about where to spend our $60, the reviews are more than an excuse to say "I told you so". It's basically our cost/benefit ratio. Will I pay X for what these people just described?

They seriously need a forum for all the "DA2 is teh fail" and "Bad Review" threads. It's getting tedious.

Adam Sessler has been a massive douche to me ever since he called Resident Evil 5 "racist, and irresponsible". He's a total moron, so his opinion has no weight with me.

So he hated DAO loved ME2, and now thinks this is ok, and the people who agree hate A2 became more action, which is what he wants... You guys realise you arent even criticising anymore, your just saying anything negative.

Only 1 reviewer I find good is angry joe. I only disagreed with ME2, but aside from that he seesm like an honest guy, and funny.

Unlike this guy who icouldnt care less about.

A game critic that considered ME2 a nearly perfect game and that thought that DA:O sucked. So, maybe YOU live under a rock and don't read the review but he do not like DA2 because it's not old school enough. Quite the contruary. Most negative critics are saying that the game has not been streamlined and casualized enough.

No critics give a **** about BG gameplay unfortunately and most praise the voice over.

Having said that: game critic... is it even a work?

You won't find a more hardcore, crazed oldschool fan of the Baldur's Gate saga than me, I assure you. And still, ME2 is my favorite Bioware game since BG2 by FAR, and DaO, while enjoyable, doesn hold a candle to ME2, imo.
So there goes your universal assumption that those games cater to polar opposites in customers...

As much as I love and revere BG's style, there's a reason why no "spiritual successor" (both NWN2 and DaO claimed to be one) was able to even come close to it's cult status: its 2D isometric, exploration and party based formula just doesn't seem to work that well in technically modern games

He isn't famous in america he isn't even famous to american gamers, he is famous to a fairly small subset of american gamers who watch or watched g4tv.  The I need outside validation that my nerd habit is okay crowd to be precise.

The only reviewrs I know are ebert and well Hillary Goldstein at IGN(i think he has been promoted a bit), and I only know him because he was a friend of a friend and got his comics at the same place I do.  And for hillary his reviews are nice to read since he is an entertaining writer, but they don't match with my opinions in the slightest.

That is what reviews are for.  The important thing to do is to read the reviews and see what they liked or ****ed about and then decide whether that stuff gives with what you like or dislike.

Thing is a lot of people after they bought things get butt hurt that reviewers or others disagree with them.

I would suggest reading the review that he wrote rather than going off (a) his soapbox and (B) the 3 minute video review from X-Play.  His written review goes much more in depth than that...

Why do I remember him bad mouthing DA:O as well. I used to watch X-play and if I recall the female host was a fan of RPG's but he wasn't.
