Jesus Christ this forum is super elitist. Adam Sessler, weither you know who he is or not.. is a member of the gaming press held in high standing within the industry. He has been reviewing games since the mid 90's. G4 is a terrible channel, and X-Play has gone downhill, but those were corporate decisions. Adam still loves and plays games all the time.

If you don't know who he is, that's fine.. If you disagree with his reviews, that's fine.. But come on, to actually take shots at his credentials, and say that he doesn't even play video games... that's just stupid. He plays and loves video games, it's been his life for a decade and a half.

As for Morgan, honestly, the fact that she would come in last when they played games on a TV show isn't reason to discredit her. I guarantee you I'd probably come in last too.. I've been a gamer for 30 years.

When I read threads like this, I understand why companies like Bioware shift their games to the masses.

Adam is slowly turning into a grumpy old man, all I really ever hear from him is complaining about the game he is reviewing and if he likes the game speaks nothing of it. X-play lost me after Morrigan was the only one that spoke of the Pros and Cons instead of just Cons about the game both need to or no more show!

Plus after X-play put two of my favorite game series on the list of game that should die, I stopped really caring about what they say...so in part, its thanks to X-play why I don't judge on reviews

This too...I forgot about it, the stupidest award they ever gave. I love Fable 2 but that deserved no GOTY award

Well, you all make some very interesting points...

Unfortunately you are wrong.

This is being pretty much universally reviewed as "average" or "mediocre" by most reviewers, not just Adam Sessler.

So I guess even Adam Sessler doesn't like this game. On the new Sessler's Soapbox he says that sleeping with your teamates is the only fun thing to do in the game. wow.

He said absolutely nothing of the sort in the video or in his review.

Out of curiosity, what are the two games you like that they said should die?

From what I have seen, it's rated as "pretty good, but not as good as DA:O" by most of the big reviewing sites. "Pretty good" is a bit better than "average".

"Famous" as in like Dr-Phil famous or "famous" as in some guy with a million hits on youtube famous.

I'm guessing because I've never heard of him, its the latter.

Well, it seems to not be rated a little lower than the last one.  Sequels should improve on the franchise, not step backwards.

However, I have to admit, I haven't gotten very far... only played a few minutes actually.  It did look graphically better then the last one so far.

I just heard they took "friendly fire" out of the combat mechanics and dumbed it down in other ways, and if true, that will be disappointing.

I'll reserve my full judgment though until I've had a few hours to sit down and really dig into it.

Frankly though, I'm already looking past this towards Witcher 2, Mass Effect 3, and Elder Scrolls Skyrim.  Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised with this though once I've really gotten into it.

You didn't see how badly she played. Even Kate who was actually doing a segment and talking about something on-air destroyed Morgan who was just playing. Kate did it between sentences presenting a different game even. She wasn't even concentrating on the game they were playing.

Can't sugarcoat that.

But she has gotten better since hosting X-Play.

the nice thing about a long-time reviewer like Sessler is that the guy's been around so long (he's been doing TV video game coverage/reviews since the 90's when it was ZDTV) that you understand the reviewer as a person and completely get where they're coming from on reviews even if you disagree with their opinion... gives you a more grounded view of gaming since no matter what you won't always agree with everybody else

that said i never watch G4, i wish it was still ZDTV or at least TechTV, i do visit xplay's website sometimes, not as often as giantbomb tho

Oh they are...despite the fact that the game recieved bad reviews from both game critics and customers, according to your philosophy they should all be disregarded as opinion.

This thread is a perfect example of Bioware fanboys with their head in their butt

Or people that classify people with a negative opinion as a troll.

Time spent on something doesn't = fame. I've never heard of him, and I've been playing games longer then bioware's been making them too, I guess that means I should have a TV show on some obsure channel...

Or you don't care of the opinions from that joke of a gaming channel. only thing thats good about it is when E3 comes around.

I take offense to that, sir! Are you completely ignoring the awesomeness that is "Ninja Warrior"?

I don't trust most reviewers. Sessler can make some good points, he can also say some pretty rediculous things...welcome to the human race I guess?

I am not a Sessler fan... *at all*, but I actually read his review and what he has to say about DA2 is very fair. He gave DA:O a 5/5, even though he's not a big fan of playing the game. And the reasons he gives for rating DA2 a 3/5 are well thought out. Whether Sessler is famous or not is completely beside the point, he clearly loves the ME franchise (which is why I read his review) and respects Bioware and their products which is why he was so harsh in his rating of their latest game.

Whether I agree with his assessment remains to be seen, I'm still waiting for my game, but dismissing what a critic has to say about a game without actually reading  it (which clearly is what many of you have done) is silly.

Dragon Age: Origins appealed to the "old school" gamers.  It was
advertised as the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate.  It was a love
letter to the old D&D loving RPG purists.

These are not
the type of gamers who haunt forums, read every press release and spend
every waking moment keeping up with industry news.  They have jobs,
wives, husbands, kids, etc.  They found something they liked in DA:O,
and assumed the sequel would be similar.

It's easy to see how
those same people would be taken aback by DA2, and the surprised
reactions by those on these forums, and Bioware as a whole shows how
out-of-touch they really are.

E for everyone except me, indeed.

there is no such thing as somebody who is universally known, so therefore there is no such thing as somebody being famous amiright?

I wouldn't know about that.  I mean who even played Fable II?  It didn't come out on PC so as far as I am concerned it didn't exist.

It only came out for the platforms, which tend to be played mostly (in general, not all) by below average intelligence people.  "Platform" games systems like XBOX/PS3 are having a terrible effect on the quality of content/design for video games.  They are making a whole generation less intelligent and dumbing down the expectations for what constitutes a "good" game.

That makes zero sense. So since he liked Fable II he's stupid? I played all the Fables and haven't been impressed by a single one. Hell, the past few years hardly no game has impressed me so much that I sing it's praises. That includes Mass Effect 2. It was a ok game and I will get Mass Effect 3 because I want to see how my characters story ends. After that, I will most likely never buy another game in the series.

Elitist ******. Jesus Christ man this forum is getting bad. You're making a sweeping negative generalization of 100,000,000+ people.. Do you know that actually makes you less intelligent than the people you are making the generalization about?
