I personally hate the new elf look, but that's just my opinion. I can't see them as elves anymore...just freaky little mutant navis. Those bald npcs hanging around look like freakin' nosferatu!

You know, I didn't even notice the Na'vi resemblance until it was mentioned on the forums, but I kept thinking "omg they look like Bajorans".

I like it. I've always felt that the elves in DAO look like cosplay humans with pointy ears. The DA2 version actually looks like a distinct race. Their eyes are especially striking.

The picture of the elf above is Aire from Baldur's Gate (2 I think).

The reference to the People, I think, is not stolen from Avatar necessarily, it is taken from the same source as where Cameron got it, namely from several indigenous people in the real world, like the innuit and several different native american tribes. Overall I see the Dragon Age franchise as one long indictment of organized religion, imperialism and xenophobia. And I like it.
