You guys can think of these reviews what you want but fact is its Biowares worst rated Big RPG game ever. And there are many reasons for this. And personally Bioware deserves these scores for dumbing down the whole RPG genre since Kotor.

Maybe they will now wake up and try to produce quality and epic real RPG games after Mass effect 3.

More likely EA will pull the plug if it does badly and decide rpgs are dead.

Then they should do that So I can support Companies like CD Project and Witchter 2. Or the makers of Risen and DSA. Even Two worlds two is a much better RPG game as this one. It lacks in the combat direction but all the rest is really great for an RPG.

These user reviews are worse than Modern Warfare 2.

Wow, open your eyes, seriously.
Look at the bad reviews, most of them are trolls, there might be one or two serious...
Most have never rated another game even...

Go look at the critics opinion instead, sure bring it on with the conspiracy theories on how EA payed them all, would still be a better source for a rating that the user ratings of Metacritic :P

Sure that makes alot of sense.

Lets look at some of the larger reputable critics...oh dear they seem to have almost scored it 10/10 for everything.
Commonsense dictates that those are not genuine reviews. One of the main reasons I stopped subscribing to PC Gamer is it's blatant pandering to game companies for exclusives and early hands on releases.

User reviews historically are a better guide than pro-reviews...this has always been the case.Sure label them as Trolls if that makes you feel better but the end result is this game is a substandard 'streamlined' stinkbomb

You guys are reading the score and not the actual reviews. No professional review is blaming DA2 for being dumber or for not being and hardcore classical RPG. Most review are happy with voice over and action combat. The actual criticism is mostly about the excessive use of recycled areas, the lack of areas other than Kirkwall and the political nature of the plot wich is not epic enough...

GAAH!!! :crying: Say not such things!

..that resulted in the death of the franchise and an MMO years later that would have some half arsed connection to original games....

Thread title fail - those are not real reviews, but user ratings
A lot of those probably from the same enraged nerds polluting this forum.
It's the same as with ME2 & Final Fantasy XIII : " OMFG, this is not exactly the game I created in my head !?!?!?!?!?!!!! WTF, they changed something, change is evil !!! I must go on the internet and rate the game 0/10 wherever I can !!!!"
As of now there are 163 user ratings on metacritic with an average of 3.4, critic average is 84/100, on IGN there are 150 user ratings average 7.7. Pretty contradictory don't you think ? Better to play the game and judge for yourself.

If Metacritic has a system for taking those fanboy reviews out (0, 1, and half those 10 scores) then we'd probably have a better idea.

I am reading PC reviews and honestly thats all I care about. And yes they complain about the combat and dumbing down almost everything which is noramally standard in RPGs.

I honestly think that the PC version is the worst one because they was threated like it an console game. Its not optimized, many people have performance problems, DirectX11 is bugged and so on.

Thats also why i like Reviews that esspically mention how bad the PC version really is.

We've had a massive amount of people on this forum already complete the game based on many factors. It's not to hard to believe that a similar number of people (not necessarily even from this forum) could post a review by now.

And I don't believe them too since logic dictates it's impossible to finish a 40 hours game in one day. And since most of those players who have completed DA2 have not even registered the game I know what to think about them, one way or the other.

I must repeat my self: DA2 review are not going that well and that's clearly an indication that something went wrong. But I only value constructive criticism made by reliable sources (being professional reviewer wich I trust or legit customers of the game).

I'm inclined to agree with this. In my experience, reliance on the input of the general consensus of the common man is more worthwhile than relying on the certain critics as its well knwon that certain critics have certain 'influences' which determine the overall outcome of their reviews. At least with the common man, it's easier to differentiate whether you're dealing with a bunch of trolls/morons or people who legitimately experienced the game. And based on what I've seen on the meta critic site, most of the reviewers were people with actual concerns whereas there was the occassional knuckle head just trying to get a rise out of someone else. The thing about channers is that most of them aren't too bright and make their trolling obvious, whereas the users their sound like actual people I run across of these forums.

Furthermore, I don't pay any mind to the numerical rating. Rather, I based my thoughts on the ideas they were expressing and the general consensus is that the game is streamlined, rushed and (in many ways) a step back from the first game.

I've read PC gamer and the game took a 9.4. Eurogamer gave a solid 8 with some interesting criticism.

Link me some source to PC professional reviews.
Maybe not the french one since I cannot trust a person who call his PC ordinateur :D.

I was JUST going to post that. On GameSpot the game's user rating is 7.5/8.8/9.0  (PC, X360, PS3 respectivelly), based on hundreds of people as well.

Obviously, BW must have bought those people off as well

The only metacritic Reviews that mean something

Thats right from the people who do this for a living. Not disgruntled fans who wanted something else.

I havent played the game yet so I reserve judgement

Stanley Woo has already confirmed otherwise, as suggested by his very post on this matter. Some people got the game before the official street date whereas other people got a whole extra 12 hour start, due to regional time differences. Furthermore, without the side quest, this game doesn't come close to 40 hours.

Why are people so angry that DA2 isn't what they want? There are many other RPGs out there. Go play Divinity 2, Two Worlds ii or whatever. I don't go into a clothing store and get mad at them for selling female clothing.

I don't know about you, but I hated Final Fantasy XIII. And not because it wasn't the same game I created in my head, but because it was NOT FUN. Too linear, uninspired combat, uninteresting main cast, uninspired boss battles and too much repeittion. Based on these claims alone, you seem to be someone overly dismissive dissenting opinions, thus I don't think we'll be able to agree on much should I entertain a discussion with you.:?
