8hrs into the game I'm enjoying it very much. Most people that like the game don't spend time reviewing but playing.
Or the game is unplayable because of all the video stuttering or game crashes.
One problem I see is that most bioware fanbois here are very quick to be very appologetic to a company that has no loyalties to them. They need to get there house in order and get things fixed.

If you got stuttering or crashes Its because you don't have the latest drivers.. had em aswell before I updated my driver, now It runs smoothly.

I make my own mind up on games, I don't let some review sway me one way or the other.
God. Pretty much this. Please?
If people really follow reviews for something like a mass of lemmings then it's their loss in my opinion. I play things I think I'll like/do like, and if I enjoy it, why does anyone elses opinion matter? Thats why its an opinion.
It's why there is different genres of music, not everyone is going to like the same thing.

I was looking at the escapist forum and they mentioned Modern Warfare 2 reviews (I know you hate DA 2 being compared to it, but bear with me).
I saw the reviews were negative for the game on all platforms from the user ratings side on metacritic. To be honest, I'm beginning to think this bombing is because BiOWare have hit the intended target and has a lot of people interested in the game.
It's the only thing I can think of here for the 0/10 and 1/10 scores, aside from the sheer stupidity of people.
So, I'm not sure what BioWare should think about all of this to be honest. As ever though, I hope many people only look at the critic reviews and don't form a judgement on just one review or a score. (This also includes looking at 'good' user reviews, but a lot can be crap.)
In any case, I'm clearing off for a bit now.

I have loved every moment of DA2 so far. It's an amazing evolution of RPG mechanics and tropes. Yup, it's different. It's streamlined in many ways, but in others it allows for absolute control and customization. I'm sorry people miss the proverbial good old days, but I, for one, heartily welcome our Dragon Age 2 overlords.

When I played it and found this out I basically put the game down and stopped after a few hours. The inventory, combat, graphics overall, dialogue has all taken a step in the wrong direction towards a different genre and therefore in my eyes this game that they portray as an rpg is now rated a 1. Now if they were going for an interactive movie then I would rate it higher.
ps: I read some of the gamespot user reviews and the game is getting subpar reviews there as well aside from a few 10/10 fanboys and 0/10 haters it seems the average is rather low for the people who at least commented on why they rated it low.

I don't think people realize why there are people rating it a 1 or 0 does anyone comprehend that maybe it's because this is no longer an rpg game that was expected and is now a mere corridor hack and slash.

Wrong. It's a pimply face 4chan raid. Nothing more.

Yeah. I can't really take any of that seriously. It reads like spam from people who probably haven't even played the game (you know, kind of like the dozens of people on this forum who don't have a registered copy of the game yet were slamming it shortly after release and haven't let up yet...)
As far as what I think of the game, I've had it for 24 hours. I've played 6. I couldn't review it yet. Beyond a vague "I like it". I do know I had a hard time going to bed last night. I wanted to keep playing. No complaints so far.
And I'm a long, long time PC gamer (well, originally an apple gamer, playing zork and Dr. J versus Larry Bird on my apple ii plus). I have zero problems with any of the streamlining so far.
Beyond that, I think the game looks great with high quality textures running and so far I've had zero technical issues (no crashes, no video glitches, etc.)
I don't 'get' what anybody would be 'body slamming' the game about. But to each their own.

If DA catered to the teenage demographic right from the start, it wouldn’t be such a big issue now.

You seem to be claiming that 4chan will have no affect on users who read the reviews troll or not it brings up valid problems with the game. I don't know if you are aware of this but 4chan users do have wallets and are consumers and can also influence others who read the reviews.

Shocking.
And given how early these reviews are, the worst is yet to come.
It's Final Fantasy XIII all over again. Hardly any critics have the balls to score the game based on its merits whereas all of the fans are ripping it into shreds.
lol i havent even opened my copy yet because im still holind out hope that ill get a Sig. Ed. somehow but....
Are you comparing DA2 to FF13 in a good way??? That game was ****ing horrible. (played it through with maybe 50+ hours) The reviews were generous! The fans were all over it, and were right about it/
FFXIII should have been rated way lower than it actually was critically.

Hate on the internet is like a virus. Once enough people spread it around, there is no stopping it. This is one of the reasons that the saying, "Don't believe everything you read on the internet" was created. What a bunch of overblown nonsense.

True words. Every consumer that bases their choice of product on a bunch of unjustified slanderous trollposts has some serious issues. Don't let anyone judge a game for you - do it yourself. It doesn't cost you anything and it builds character, something a lot of people on the internetz are lacking.

What went wrong?
Absolutely nothing.
What went right?
1. BioWare has evolved towards a new demographic.
2.
Baldur's Gate was about 2341474190 years ago. Nobody except some really
oldsql gamers and hardcore gamers know that game and standards in
gaming have changed too much to make a game like BG.
3. Baldur's Gate
was fantastic, don't get me wrong - but this is the year 2011. You
should stop living in the past because it hurts your enjoyment of today.
