Hey,

sorry for posting this here. I'm not even sure anyone frequent this forum anymore seeing as DA2 is out now, but i'll give it a try...

DA2 comes out tomorrow here in Norway, and i'm planning on buying and playing it.

I have ordered the Signature Edition and also hooked up for some other content.

BUT - I see in my profile information that my gamertag is registered as "partyman12" (not the real one:P). This is my FORMER X-Box. I've gotten a new X-Box where my gamertag is "librarygeek6".

Here's my question: if my profile here on the forums shows that my gamertag is that of "partyman12", will I still be able to download my content to the X-Box where my gamertag is "librarygeek6"?

If the contetn I've registered for is linked to the gamertag showing in my profile information, is it then possible to change the gamertag in my profile here? (answers accepted are YES, ABSOLUTELY, OF COURSE and LET ME FIX THIS FOR YOU WITH NO CONCEIVABLE EFFORT ON YOUR PART)

Thanks for all help. I understand that this should really be posted in the DA2 part of the forum, but I'm not authorized to post there apparently <_<

Why in blue blazes did you create a new Gamertag and confuse things for yourself?

I will proceed no further as anything I write will not fit into your accepted answer scheme.

Me and my brother shared an X-Box earlier, but it belongs to him. Now I have moved away from home and gotten my own X-Box.

When I registered my gamertag here I was still using the X-Box at home. Now though, I'm using my new one.

So is there no way to change my gamertag-registration here on Bioware social? Do you know if the gamertag here on this site MUST be the same as on the X-Box I'm using in order to access my content?

Please, if ANYONE knows anything about this, help, please:(

OK...I don't know a great deal but I'll put forth my thoughts until someone more knowledgeable comes along. (If you want to skip my waffle then go to the bottom of my post for the cop-out solution.)

Vegglimer: OK, I see now. Sort of. You didn't say but it suggests to me that not only were you sharing a 360 (understandable) but also sharing a Gamertag. If you were sharing the same Gamertag then it does complicate things.

First thing is this: who owns the Gamertag which bought the dlc?

With dlcs they are linked to your EA account (hence your BioWare account), your console, and possibly even Gamertag. On the same console it should be the case that if Gamertag 1 buys something the content should still be available for Gamertag 2. (This should be the case as I just set up a dummy account on my 360 to check.)

If you owned the dlc on the previous console, I think the easiest thing you could do is probably recover your old Gamertag (the one used to buy the dlc) on your 360. That is, you'll have your current Gamertag and your old Gamertag on your console. By doing so you should have access to the content associated with your old Gamertag.

I sense your case is more complicated but that's what I would currently suggest with what you have mentioned. You'll also need to transfer your licenses as well. http://www.xbox.com/...eMigration/Home

Bear in mind that dlcs cannot be used on two different consoles.

Vegglimer and PinkFoxx: you may also want to log into your EA accounts and go into Account Management. Under this option you can find an option to 'Add Persona'; I believe you can also add a new Gamertag there. https://profile.ea.com/login.do

Now, I can't say that it will solve the problems both of you are having but it should hopefully help to address them.

Now the cop out solution: contact EA support and explain the situation to them and see what they will advise you to do.

Thank you for a very informative and helpful response!

When I was using the first XBox, my brother and I shared the same profile. And while I was living at home, I registered here on the forum with the gamertag associated with that XBox.

Then, I moved away with my girl, and I got an XBox of my own. I had no idea I could recover the gamertag used on the former XBox, so I created a new one.

This new one is the gamertag I'm going to download my content to, since it's the one I use now.

But I feel I should be able to change the gamertag associated with my DLC - as long as the content has not yet been downloaded, of course.

So, basically, to me, the first gamertag (the one associated with this site) is dead, gone, no longer in use.

I will try the things you suggested. And thank you, you're the kind of forumite who makes these boards a delightful place to be:)

I just hope it works.

You can also change a Gamertag's name but you have to spend money (i.e., Microsoft points).

I have a similar problem. I have this account linked to my old live account and my new one. However the email address that this account uses is linked to my old account, NOT my new one. If I want to download the Signature Edition content do I have to have the same email, or will it work seeing as I have the account linked.

Personally I would suggest starting a new thread rather than adding comments to an established problem, but since I am here...

Right...it's a bit early for me so I could be misreading things in your post. At the moment I'm looking for clarification (won't comment on something I don't understand; I'm just picky like that). Let me put it in a way that I think is your problem.

(1) You have Gamertag 1 linked to your EA account.

(2) You have Gamertag 2 linked to your EA account (same EA account as in (1)).

(3) Email address associated with Gamertag 1 is the same as the email address associated with EA account.

(4) Email address associated with Gamertag 2 is different to the email address of Gamertag 1 and EA account.

Amend (1) to (4) as necessary.

The way dlcs seem to work is they follow the Gamertag, EA account and the console. As long as the Gamertag (and the associated licenses are on that console) then the dlc is accessible by any other Gamertag. Though I imagine the dlc will always be associated with the Gamertag you used to download it with. But this brings me to something else that needs clarifying.

(5) What do you mean by 'work'?

I am very much a one Gamertag person myself (no infidelity for me *cough*, as it keeps things simple. Using the same email makes things simpler as well. If both Gamertags are on the same console you'll have access to the dlc on that console. If it's not...I think it's then restricted to the console the Gamertag is on (my guess but I have no idea if that is true), and also depends on whether you're connected to XBox Live.
