Hallo... Didn't see a search function for this particluar thread.. plus I'm in the middle of playing. So I'll just start an easy and new question thread here.
Is it just me or is the majority of the equipment you can buy in the vendors only for Hawke? Is that supposed to happen? Is it a bug?...
Equipment Exclusivity?

The only equipment you can equip on your party members are weapons and trinkets. Armor is for the player character only.
It's a terrible design decision, imo, but that's 'working as intended'

Also, for Varric, you can't swap weapons either, since he only uses Bianca. So for him, it's just belt, amulet and 2 rings.
I actually like this decision, it's somewhat like the transition between ME1 and ME2. I think it's an awesome way to allow for your companions to have 'their outfits'. You can still upgrade their armor via gifts.
It also lets you have to keep around much less armor, so you can amass your wealth much quicker.
